Qingyang has a history of 5000 years of human activities, 2500 years of civilization and written records of 1700 years since ancient times. According to the county annals "Biography of Ge Mi", Ge resigned and returned to the field in the Northern Song Dynasty during the reign of Renzong Zhiping, and lived in Qingyang. Accordingly, Qingyang built a town in Jiangyin County in the early years of the Northern Song Dynasty. By the Ming Dynasty, the town of Qingyang was filled with fireworks, boats were full of troubles and the market was prosperous. In Qing Dynasty, Qingyang Town, together with more than 10 market towns in Jiangyin, Wuxi and Wujin counties, became a link between Jiangsu, Wuxi and Changzhou. Gan Long's "Jiangyin County Records" contains: Qingyang Bridge Fourth Street, the canal winds south, the water is windy, the title and the tail are connected, and the city is close to the county. Every market is a scene where pedestrians on the bridge carry thousands of years and ships under the bridge carry thousands of manuscripts.
