1, peace monument
The Peace Monument at the Statue Square in Central, Hong Kong was unveiled by the then Governor of Hong Kong, Sir Alex Stuart, on May 24th, 1923, the 12th year of the Republic of China (1923). This is the first monument officially established in Hong Kong to commemorate the victims of the First World War.
The Peace Monument is made of finely cut stones, with a stepped bottom and a stepped top. The rectangular sarcophagus is decorated with stone garlands.
