Conan, Xiaolan and Sonoko went to Izu to play. On the beach, a strange man struck up a conversation with Sonoko and invited the three of them to eat and stay together. At the same hotel, Sonoko took a photo of Xiaolan adjusting her swimming trunks and said she planned to show it to Shinichi, and showed the man other photos she had taken before. The man was the murderer of the serial murders of brown-haired girls. Hearing that Sonoko wanted to show the photos to Shinichi, a high school detective, he thought they were photos of his own murders, so he came to Sonoko's room in the middle of the night to look for the photos.
