Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions

The Federation of Trade Unions (FTU), formerly known as the Federation of Trade Unions of Hong Kong and Kowloon, was established in April 1948. It is the largest labor organization in Hong Kong, and its political stance is pro-Beijing and China people. It has more than 180 branches and more than 300,000 members.

FTU serves the grassroots in Hong Kong. Zheng Yaotang, the current chairman, is a member of the Executive Council. Important members such as Tan Yaozong, Chen Wanxian, Wang Guoxing and Kuang Zhijian are all members of the Legislative Council.

Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions (FTU) was established in 1948. At present, there are 229 affiliated associations and sponsorship associations covering a wide range of industries, mainly including automobile and railway transportation, seafarers' port transportation, aviation, government agencies, public utilities, civil and professional services, tourism, catering and retail, service industry, manufacturing industry, shipbuilding machinery manufacturing industry, construction industry and so on. The number of affiliated members is about 30.

In the spirit of "keeping pace with the times and uniting with the grassroots", FTU implements the working principles of patriotism, unity, rights and interests, welfare and participation, fully participates in political, social and labor affairs, and provides diversified welfare services for members and citizens with the goal of safeguarding employees' rights and interests and building a just society.
