How to improve the modeling and elevation design ability of the quick design of postgraduate entrance examination in a short time

The following are collected for you by Enlightenment Education. First of all, be kind to the concept of short time. In fact, my colleagues upstairs also mentioned that it is to improve the ability of architectural design. If this time is to establish quick questions, it can be very short, but there is a limit.

Moreover, the short and long time of improvement has a great relationship with diligence and learning style; Third, try not to confuse test scores with design ability when you are a student. Examination is the embodiment of design ability. Some people have strong design ability, but their scores on quick questions are very low, mostly due to secondary reasons such as methods and skills, unclear questions and unclear routines in the exam. If they think and practice, such students can do problems quickly. However, if the original design ability is average, it is basically impossible to get high marks in the quick questions. When I was in school, few design assignments were average, but I scored unusually high on quick questions. Therefore, improving the design ability is long-term; Coping with exams is short-term. The former is well done, and the latter will get better soon even if it is not good at first.

I felt much more relaxed after listening to the sermon. Let me talk about my crash experience first. My scores on quick questions at school are basically above 85. I think there are some achievements and methods in copying and practicing. The former is more important. I must also admit that since I joined the architecture department, I have found that I am a person without talent. To learn architecture well, I am just a little more diligent than others, that's all. The reason why I started the curriculum design from the second grade, and the results of various design drawings were among the best, mainly because I had a very difficult first grade and never gave up thinking and efforts. In fact, for the vast majority of architecture students, the first grade is like playing, and it will not be very different from my study. Now I occasionally mention this process with people in the network and practical work, not to show that a person has no talent at all, and there is nothing to show; I just want to tell the students of architecture department through personal experience that most students and graduates are far less stupid than me, so it is almost impossible to do a poor job in architectural design with a little effort.

Specifically, we started the first quick question after two design tasks were completed in the second grade last semester. At that time, it was evening, the topic was handed out before dinner, and the paper was handed in at night, and the time was 4.5 hours. The design task is a cruise terminal, where ships dock, including a group of houses waiting for ships and services. The base is a winding terrain near the water. The characteristic of quick topic design is that your design must be more distinctive than usual, and at the same time, it is generally reasonable. With this in mind, I imagined the bustling scene of thousands of masts on some docks and decided to take the plane modeling of the ship as the theme for the first time. At the same time, considering the randomness and distortion of the shore terrain, I dislocated and repeated the shape of the mother ship to fit the other side of the bend, forming a building plane with a strong sense of rhythm and form. Modeling is self-evident, sloping walls retreat, serious light and shadow, symbolic vertical components, colorful flags. The whole facade looks like several small yachts, which are juxtaposed and overlapped coolly. I got a high score on this quick question. Maybe the meaning I wanted to express was seen by the teacher at a glance. I am very happy.

Because what I mean is not complicated at all, the pier, my house is like a ship, just a group of ships with architectural sense, and at the same time, it is moderately active, which makes people know at a glance that most of them are houses related to amusement. I have been doing this all the time in the design of quick questions later. I don't hesitate to conceive that the plane facade has its own characteristics, combining abstraction with concreteness, and the expression is as perfect as possible. The last quick question is the postgraduate entrance examination. As our dean is Peter eisenmann's apprentice, the topic of the quick question is very strange. The specific task is to make a home for the students of architecture department as a place for tutors to take students.

The terrain is actually a long zone, which is weird to the extreme. He is so strange. I bet the questioner may not be afraid of your strange design. So I made a plane of the wind model, hoping to turn the rigid strip base upside down and leave the living room outside, separated from the main function. According to the characteristics of windmills, nature has erected four large walls, which are strewn at random, and the facade is also available. This house is actually very simple, but it can make a strong sense of strength, architecture and light and shadow. As a result, it is a pity that among all the references, the design score did not become the first, but the second. So don't get me wrong, I'm showing off. I have nothing to show off, because the gap between myself and others will always exist. For quick questions, my own summary is as follows:

1, watch more and practice more

In fact, the answer can be summed up in these four words, but it seems a bit empty. Without the usual accumulation, improvisation is also in vain. Therefore, usually try to soak in the reference room and draw pictures when looking at a good house, whether it is fast or slow, fine or scribbled. In short, you can draw the house you like, and you can draw the plane, shape and space. Don't worry about your poor painting, you are just learning and recording. Mathematicians practice thinking and calculus, while yours is just thinking and drawing. The more you watch and draw, the more active your thinking will be and the better your writing ability will be. It is an eternal truth to learn architecture and start working. Don't spend too much time on the computer in the lower grades, spend more time reading architectural books, practicing and drawing. A good design foundation must be the product of thinking, watching and painting. Give up if you don't believe me. Drawing a few houses won't improve anything, and you won't even remember it next week. But if you do this often, the quantitative change will definitely have a qualitative change, and the effect is self-evident.

2. Active thinking

Quick questions are not practical projects. Don't spend too much time on details. First, you should have a clear idea, which can be novel, but not too obvious. At least, you should impress yourself. It doesn't have to be concrete or abstract, but there must be an idea, whether it is plane or shape, both of which are comprehensive and multifaceted.

3. Don't be complicated

Your design should be summarized in one or several sentences, one or several lines, one or several shapes, and this is what you need to do after your curriculum design and even your career path-concise, clear, distinctive, and in line with the aesthetics of most people. Imagine famous buildings such as Sydney Opera House, Sailing Hotel, Parliament Building, and the Hall of Supreme Harmony in the Forbidden City. Their interiors are very complicated, but their shapes are extremely simple. The outline can be drawn in just a few lines. What reason do you have to make a house countless times smaller than theirs so complicated? Besides, the question is coming up, and you don't have time to do it. If there is still time, add details as appropriate. No time? Forget it if you don't have time, but at least your overall picture is on paper, and your idea is at least half finished.

4. Stereoscopic thinking

You designed a house, not a face, not a picture, not a painting, although you may start with a picture. The quick question ultimately needs you to express the comprehensive nature of the building, so you must form his image in your mind as soon as possible. This image can be vague, special and imperfect, but it must be there. Don't worry, it's not perfect, because eventually you have to express it in various ways. Don't carefully sketch his facade over and over again when you get the title. A cautious and beautifully carved facade will not get high marks, but a thoughtful, reasonable and even bold overall image may reflect your learning achievements. So remember, have the overall shape of your house first, and then express it in cross section and perspective. This process is actually a design method, but it is more suitable for answering questions quickly.

For example, if you want to be a wildlife museum, your thinking should be as wild as possible, and your image should not be too calm. It can be energetic, tough, arrogant or calm. Can you make it into a square box? Of course, it is not impossible, but your idea obviously needs to be expressed in more detail. In just a few hours, it may be difficult for you to describe this square box as having a more obvious relationship with the wild museum.

In other words, a special building can certainly have multiple understandings. I'm just giving an example to illustrate the importance of thinking. Have an idea, find an idea, and then you can express it in the way you have mastered and mastered. For another example, if you want to build a Zhuge Liang memorial hall, your thinking will depend on the relevant forms of Zhuge Liang you know, such as feather fan, black silk scarf, warp and weft, strategizing, gossip array, circle, thatched cottage and so on. But remember, it's too specific Maybe you don't think the old Zhuge fan will leave his hand. If you simply turn this museum into a goose feather fan, your intention will be lower. Again, it's not that you can't do this, but you may not have a strong ability to repair this goose feather fan successfully in just a few hours. If you fail, people will feel that you are irresponsible.

Don't hesitate to have an idea.

There is nothing to hesitate about. You only have four hours, six hours, eight hours at the most. What do you think this house should look like? Quiet, happy or wild, energetic? Or is it solemn and depressing? We'll consider whether it's too vulgar after we have it. Too ordinary? If not, then quickly settle down and improve him. Of course, this move still depends on your usual accumulation. The more you watch and practice, the more images you have and the more divergent your thinking, right?

6, encourage unarmed

Forget the accuracy and caution of your course design, and use less rulers. A ruler can be used to type properly, or simply divide the drawing into several pieces, so as not to make your drawing lose its center of gravity and balance. Try to use your bare hands for the rest of your expressions, even if you will scribble. What's important is that freehand lines can express your design and sudden ideas more quickly. No matter which school or architectural education system, quick questions will not encourage exquisite lines, but only pay attention to your design and expression.

I once saw someone use a ruler and needle strokes to quickly check the results, which were extremely hard and meticulous, but the results were not satisfactory. In a limited time, only a regular plane and elevation can be drawn under the ruler, which is square and well-behaved. Remember, this is not an actual project. It is more important to examine your comprehensive thinking and expressive ability in design, rather than asking you to do a detailed engineering project.
