The advantage of the urban area is that catering, business and other supporting facilities are complete, but the disadvantage is that the environment is not as good as that of seaside resorts.

Another option is to live in a resort, usually by the sea. The environment is good, the landscape is good and the air is good. Moreover, there are few tourists, relatively clean and not easily disturbed. It feels good to relax at the seaside at night. At present, Jinkun Resort and Hongyan Beach Villa are known. As the tourist season in Pingtan is only four months in a year, the prices of hotels and resorts are not low during the weekend of tourist season, and 200 standard rooms are common. Pingtan hotels and resorts have few guests from Monday to Friday. If you stay for a long time, the price will be particularly cheap these days. You must book accommodation more than 3 days in advance, otherwise you may not be able to book a satisfactory house.

For health reasons, try not to eat in Pingtan countryside. When eating in urban areas, you should also choose restaurants with large scale and good sanitary conditions.

People who have just arrived in Pingtan must try several kinds of delicious food, such as Pingtan solid fish balls, Pingtan fish noodles, luck changes, harmony and so on. It is said that this kind of luck is unique in China. Pingtan people call it (rice food) (pronounced xi 1), with sweet potatoes as stuffing and laver, shrimp and diced vegetables wrapped in it. It has a unique taste and is worth tasting. The fish balls in Pingtan Island are also a must. Different from the fish balls in Fuzhou, the fish balls in Pingtan Island are solid, round, spindle-shaped and even noodle-like (fish noodles). Most of them are made of mackerel or eel and can be tasted in better restaurants.

When Pingtan Hotel makes soup, it usually puts a kind of processed bamboo shoots called "bamboo shoots rice" (or shredded bamboo shoots), which tastes sour. If you don't like it, explain it in advance.

The "restaurant street" on Pingtan government road has many restaurants, low consumption grade, wide choice, many varieties and decent environment. The scenic spots in Pingtan can be divided into Class A interactive type and Class B sightseeing type.

All kinds of beaches that allow you to throw yourself into the embrace of the ocean belong to A-level scenic spots. For example, Longwangtou Beach and Jinkun Holiday Beach.

Class B includes Shipaiyang, Jiangjun Mountain, Nanzhai Mountain, Xianrenjing, Haitan Tianshen, Sanjiao Lake and other scenic spots. The scenic spots I mentioned are marked on the map of Pingtan. It is very necessary to buy a map in a nearby shop when crossing the road.

Pingtan seaside bath

It's a pity not to get into the water when you come to the seaside. The largest bathing beach in Pingtan Island is called Longwangtou Beach (officially called Longfengtou Beach). The beach here is very open and stretches for miles. Admission is free and there are many tourists. Freshwater washing and dressing facilities are poor, and they are all shacks built by villagers. If you want to find a beach with fewer tourists, change clothes and a good washing environment, you need to go to various resorts. Holiday villages generally accept tickets to 5 yuan. Admission is free for guests.

Jinkun Resort is located in Yujing Village, Aoqian Town, southeast corner of Pingtan. It takes 15 minutes to drive from downtown. Hongyan Beach Villa is next to Longwangtou Bath in Pingtan, and the beaches are connected together. It is about 5 kilometers away from the city.

Recommend B-level scenic spots: in the order of recommendation-

Xianrenjing, also known as the East China Sea Wonderland, is located at the southern foot of Wangye Mountain in Liushui Town. There is a huge natural erosion axis called Xianren Well, and the wall is very steep. There is a grand canyon next to Xianren Well, which looks like a crack halfway up the mountain, called Xianren Valley. Climbing to the top of the mountain, you can see the magnificent sea, with a sea view above 180 degrees, rippling blue waves and beautiful scenery. There is also a beautiful fishing port nearby.

General Mountain: a typical scenic spot combining mountains and seas. There is a watchtower at the top of the mountain, about 10 high. This is a good place to watch. There is a sky line hundreds of meters long in the mountain. The mountain road is tortuous, and the narrowest part can only be passed by one person, which is very challenging. You can climb mountains and look at the sea.

Nanzhai Mountain, a unique marine erosion landscape, is located in Beicuo Town, south of Pingtan Island. Weathered granite can be seen everywhere, with typical landscapes such as Camel Rock and Yuanyang Rock. The advantage is the characteristics of stone scenery, but the disadvantage is that it is far from the seaside, pure mountain scenery and no forest, so it is necessary to visit in cool weather.

Not recommended B-level scenic spots: These scenic spots are classic in Pingtan's traditional sense, but I personally don't recommend them.

Sanjiao Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake in Fujian and the fresh water source of Pingtan. For the purpose of protecting water sources, there is really nothing to play on the lake, which is quite boring.

Shipaiyang (semi-foreign sail): Traditionally, tourists are generally recommended to visit Shipaiyang, which is rare in the world. This scenic spot is really special, a sailboat made up of three huge stones in the sea. It's great from a distance, but there are so few things to visit. Once you see it clearly, it will be boring.

Junshan: It is known as the first mountain in Pingtan, but it is far from the sea and can only be overlooked, so it is not fun.

In addition, the coastline of Pingtan is winding and the scenery is wonderful, which is also a change of scenery. If you are interested, it is also a good choice to stay and shoot along the island road and around the island.
