Platts wild horse, also known as Mongolian wild horse, is a subspecies of wild horse. Originated in Beitashan, Junggar Basin, Xinjiang, China and Gansu and Inner Mongolia. At present, the Platts wild horses in Xinjiang Wild Horse Breeding Research Center are all individuals produced through breeding and wild release. There are only more than 2,000 horses in the world, the number of which is far less than that of giant pandas. Up to 1998, there are about 60 Hustannuru grasslands. 1986, the largest wild horse breeding center in Asia was built in the southern margin of Junggar Basin in China and Jimsar County in Xinjiang.
