How are hotels in Manila like?

Most of Manila’s hotels are older, and the larger hotels have higher floors. On the way from the airport to the Pearl Hotel, there are many big hotels like Guomao, BBD, and Marriott, which look like five-star hotels. We booked the Pearl Hotel on AGODA, which is located in Ermita District, not far from Manila and Makati District. It should be considered a bustling area, close to Rizal Park. It looks nice outside. It is a white tall building with a relatively small lobby. There is only one registration desk, one front desk, and one security guard. Maybe there are too many people moving in during the peak season and you have to wait an hour to move in. There is a welcome drink, but you only need to go to a nearby cafe to get a ticket, and the service awareness is poor. The room is not big, but very clean. Except for the noisy air conditioner and the smell of dripping water. The TV is also old-fashioned, and there is a refrigerator and a safe. The bathroom is not big and the disposable supplies are complete, but the quality cannot be complimented. A friend who was traveling with me booked the Pearl Lane Hotel and reported that the appearance of the hotel was very different from the one online and the rooms were very small. The only thing I'm satisfied with is that the hotel's breakfast is good and the girl at the front desk is also very nice.
