Two major supporting hotels are about to be topped out and Universal Beijing Resort will open in 2021

The roller coaster track is beginning to take shape

With vehicles shuttling and tower cranes standing everywhere, the construction site of Universal Beijing Resort is a busy scene. A roller coaster track has been set up, which is particularly eye-catching. The biggest feature of Universal Studios is to create an immersive experience through multimedia means such as scenery, sound, light and shadow. Therefore, in addition to the outdoor ride project of the roller coaster, there are also multiple ride equipment being "hidden" in buildings for installation.

According to the relevant person in charge of Beijing International Resort Co., Ltd., the Chinese and American technical teams put forward extremely high requirements for the installation of riding equipment, using BIM modeling, independent fixed support systems, computer and total station measurements, etc. Advanced technology allows equipment embedded parts to achieve extremely high precision.

In addition to the theme park, Universal Resort will also build Universal Studios Hotel and NUO Resort Hotel in terms of supporting facilities. The design styles of the two hotels, one western and one central, are currently close to reaching their peak.

The Universal Studios Hotel is located at the entrance of the theme park. It has an excellent location and can be described as the "face" of the theme park. The hotel adopts the Spanish Revival architectural style and is decorated with a large number of movie elements. It has a construction area of ??more than 90,000 square meters and can provide 800 guest rooms. NUO Resort Hotel focuses on Chinese garden style. The hotel is inspired by leisure gardens and architecture. It has a construction area of ??more than 50,000 square meters and can provide 400 guest rooms.

Beijing Universal City Avenue will also be built in the supporting area to create a themed commercial district integrating retail, catering and entertainment.

Parking at a 60-degree angle is convenient for "novice" drivers

The parking building has a construction area of ??220,000 square meters, with four floors above ground and one underground floor. It is the largest open parking building in the city , is expected to provide 8,600 private car parking spaces. The parking building adopts a 60-degree angle parking method, which will facilitate "novice" drivers to park and avoid congestion. The ground parking lot has a construction area of ??12,000 square meters and can provide 707 parking spaces for buses, tour buses, taxis, online car-hailing, etc. to park here.

"The parking space is designed as a 60-degree inclined parking space. The driver can directly put the front of the car into the parking space and drive out directly forward when leaving, maximizing convenience for the driver." The person in charge of the resort company introduced , the parking building also adopts a wide parking space design, a pedestrian and vehicle separation design, and has 445 charging pile parking spaces, while fully reserving the next installation space.

There is a "nurturing school" for transplanted trees

In the southeast corner of the Beijing Universal Resort project, there is a "nurturing school" for transplanted trees covering an area of ??more than 90,000 square meters. More than 2,000 trees transplanted from Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and even the south will undergo soil and water adaptation and root maintenance in this "nurturing school" to ensure that they will be successfully transplanted to the theme park in more than a year to create a layered garden landscape.

Walking into the nursery base is like entering a forest. Here there are tall trees such as pines and cypresses and locust trees that are more common in the north, as well as landscape trees such as locust trees and jujube trees, as well as experimental tree species such as cork bamboo and jasper bamboo transplanted from the south. Most tree species are planted in circular "root control containers", which help to cultivate the root system and form a round disc for easy transplantation in the future.

According to reports, taking into account Beijing’s climatic conditions, the trees selected are mainly tree species from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, especially a large number of evergreen trees of the conifer and cypress category. However, due to the needs of some scenes, the park will adopt a combination of real and fake, using some simulated palm trees, and planting large-leaf trees such as Catalpa trees, Paulownia purpurea, and pinnate compound-leaf plants such as Thousand-headed stink bug and Albizia julibrissin to present a tropical jungle style.
