Where is Fan Zhai?
Fan Zhai is the largest and most well-preserved Ming Dynasty residential building in Ningbo. It takes the north and south as the longitudinal axis, and consists of three main buildings in the north-south direction and the left and right wings, forming a "Tian"-shaped wooden structure complex. However, from the point of view that the back corridors of the left and right wings are connected with the back corridors of the third entrance and the front corridors of the second and third entrances, the shape of "moon" is formed, which is "day" and "moon". 1996 was rebuilt and later changed into a cultural shopping mall, which became the landscape building of Yuehu Scenic Area and Zhongshan Road. The house has three entrances, and the overall structure and some decorations are well preserved, but the interior has been destroyed and rebuilt. The gatehouse has been destroyed, and now only square stone pillars are left. The first input body is single-eave hard mountain type, with three rooms and two lanes wide, and houses on the left and right, in which the beams are lifted in the open room, the front and rear eaves columns are rolled up, with a cross arch on the top and a drum-shaped column base on the bottom; The second room is a bucket-through type, the front and rear eaves columns are the same as those of the open room, and the two houses are close to each other on the left and right. The materials used are smaller than those in the hall. In the treatment and decoration of the beam frame, this entrance is more exquisite than the other two entrances such as the moon beam and the sparrow replacement, with smooth and bright lines and brick carvings on the walls. The main structure of the second entrance is basically the same as the main entrance, but the buildings arranged in the left, right and east directions are different from the main entrance. The building extends from north to south and is connected with the front entrance and the rear entrance to the north, forming a closed building complex. Later, it was a building with two eaves and a peak, and the eaves were slightly inclined. There is a straight wooden fence in front of the upper peripheral window, which plays the role of light transmission, ventilation and theft prevention.
