The most not-to-be-missed trip to Yichang: a night tour of the Yangtze River, crossing the Gezhouba Dam, and a real-life version of a rising tide lifting all boats

This is my first time coming to Yichang, Hubei.

This second largest city in Hubei is known as the "Three Gorges Gateway" and "The Throat of Sichuan and Hubei". The world-famous Gezhouba and Three Gorges Dam are located here, and is known as the "Hydropower Capital of the World".

When traveling to Yichang, check out the nine top cave restaurants in the world - Fangweng Restaurant. The entire restaurant is built around a mountain cave, and there are planks connected to the cliffs. Through the planks, there is a cave.

I also tasted Yichang’s famous dish: original fatty fish, which was really delicious. Although a pound of fish sells for 198 yuan, a pot of fish costs nearly 400 yuan.

The wild vegetable pancakes pioneered by the restaurant owner are also highly recommended and should be eaten while they are hot.

We also went to the Three Gorges Family in Xiling Gorge, the most magical and magnificent of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. This national 5A tourist attraction has a surprise waiting for you every 50 steps.

One step at a time, experience the ancient and mysterious Bachu culture.

The long-lost ancient sailboat, the girl washing clothes by the stream, the fisherman casting a net for fishing... This scenic spot is really magical.

By combining boat tour and walking, you first get on the cruise ship from the pier, sit on the boat and experience the original ecological scenery on both sides of the Three Gorges, and then walk after the cruise ship reaches the scenic spot.

But the most unmissable experience during this trip to Yichang is the night cruise on the Yangtze River.

It was an exciting night. The entire Yichang night tour route is: Three Gorges Visitor Center - Natural Tower - Passing Gezhouba Ship Lock - Disembarking at Huangbai River.

At around seven o'clock in the evening, after dinner, we arrived at Pier 9 of Two Dams and One Gorge and boarded a luxury cruise ship.

This is a series of luxury cruise ships on the Yangtze River Three Gorges, equipped with luxury leisure facilities such as sightseeing decks, restaurants, tea bars, bars, luxury private rooms, and multi-functional halls.

Start traveling as soon as you enter the cruise ship, making you forget what night it is today.

As soon as I sat down in the booth, Qu Yuan and Zhaojun were parading around.

The cruise ship slowly launched, the river breeze caressed gently, the bright night views of the cities on both sides of the strait merged with the scenery of the Xiajiang River, and the heart was full of romance.

The cruise ship passed by the Natural Tower, the landmark of the ancient city of Yiling; the Yiling Yangtze River Bridge, which harmoniously integrates modern technology and art; the Moji Mountain, which has a single peak and overlooks the whole city; the majestic Zhenjiang, which is powerful in three rivers Pavilion...

There will also be wonderful singing and dancing performances during the period. The stories of Qu Yuan and Zhaojun are performed on the stage, and at the end there is a particularly funny time-travel dance.

Qu Yuan and Zhaojun are both from Yichang, Hubei Province. Two people from different eras met here.

Everyone knows that Qu Yuan was a poet and politician of the Chu State during the Warring States Period. After the Yingdu of the Chu State was conquered by the Qin army, he sank into the Miluo River and died in the Chu State.

Qu Yuan is a great patriotic poet in Chinese history and the founder of Chinese romantic literature. The emergence of Qu Yuan's works marks that Chinese poetry has entered a new era from elegant singing to romantic originality.

Through the actor’s physical interpretation, I was moved by the feelings of this patriotic poet.

After watching the show, we returned to the deck and the night became more and more charming.

Yichang Yangtze River Night Tour shows Yichang from a new perspective with its various charms, tall buildings, gurgling river below, and dazzling scenery on both sides.

The most surprising thing about the night tour on the Yangtze River is that you take a boat at the end and pass by Gezhouba, the first dam of the Yangtze River. .

In a few minutes, our cruise ship reached the top of Gezhouba Dam and marveled at the wisdom of the builders.

Gezhouba is the first large-scale hydropower station on the Yangtze River and the largest low-head, large-flow, run-of-river hydropower station in the world.

The maximum dam height is 47 meters, but it only takes a few minutes to turn over the gate and fill the dam with water.

That night, I was fortunate to be able to record the entire process from the captain's perspective, from closing the gate, filling the water, and opening the gate.
