Jigong Mountain, located in Xinyang City, Henan Province, is a national nature reserve and one of the four summer resorts in China. Visitors can drive to the scenic spot by themselves. However, private cars are not allowed to go up the mountain in Jigong Mountain Scenic Area. It is recommended to visit on foot. Jigong Mountain

Jigong Mountain, called Jitou Mountain and Jizhi Mountain in ancient times, was recorded by Li Daoyuan in Shui Jing Zhu in the Northern Wei Dynasty and renamed Jigong Mountain in the Qing Dynasty. The main peak is 8 1 1 m above sea level, and Dr. Xiaofeng Bao is 768 meters above sea level, which is the natural dividing line between the north and south of China, and also the dividing line between Henan and Hubei. Jigong Mountain is located in the transitional zone between subtropical zone and warm temperate zone, and it is one of the four summer resorts in China, with an average summer temperature of 23.7 degrees and a maximum temperature of 32 degrees. In the old society, Jigong Mountain was inaccessible. After the Pinghan Railway was opened to traffic in modern times, American missionaries explored the wonders here and publicized the pleasant scenery on Jigong Mountain in western newspapers. As a result, foreigners got wind of it in China, and missionaries and businessmen from more than 20 countries built villas in the mountains. Jigong Mountain is also the only summer resort discovered and developed by foreigners. Later, great domestic warlords and many wealthy businessmen came here to build detached palaces and various villas. In its heyday, there were more than 500 villas of various styles in 23 countries on the mountain, forming a huge villa group. Before the founding of the People's Republic of China, Chiang Kai-shek climbed mountains twice, and Zhang Xueliang, Yang Hucheng, Feng Yuxiang and Wu also climbed mountains for the summer.

Tourism mode

Vacation and leisure tour: In fact, the holiday ideal of Jigong Mountain is not very attractive, and there are not many common scenic spots.

Three-day hiking tour: three days is very long, you can walk up and down, and you can slowly visit the main scenic spots on the mountain.

Two-day tour on foot: If you go up and down on foot, it takes two whole days to visit the whole scenic spot completely, with moderate intensity.

Two-day leisure tour: In the other two days, you can take a scenic tour bus and carefully visit the main scenic spots on the mountain, which is relatively relaxed.

One-day punch-in tour: take a tour bus and punch in to visit classic attractions.

Traffic guide

Jigongshan is located at the junction of Henan Province and Hubei Province. The administrative area of Jigongshan Scenic Area is Xinyang City, Henan Province, about 36 kilometers away from Xinyang City. As the transportation hub of China, Xinyang enjoys very convenient transportation. Regardless of the ordinary train or the high-speed train, Xinyang Station basically stops and there are many trains. The most convenient public transportation from Xinyang City to Jigongshan Scenic Area is the minibus from Xinyang Station Passenger Parking Lot to Jigongshan Scenic Area, and then get off at the terminal and walk a few hundred meters to the northwest gate of Jigongshan Scenic Area (the entrance of Jigongshan Scenic Area). Wave to stop, fare 12 yuan, and you can only pay in cash when you get on the bus. The whole journey takes about an hour.

Internal transportation: you can take the scenic tour bus from the northwest gate of Jigongshan Scenic Area or Jigongshan Tourist Distribution Center to Baojian Mountain Pass and Xinghu Parking Lot, the main scenic spots on the mountain. Round trip ticket to 40 yuan/person. Operating hours of tourist buses: 7:30- 18:00 (summer) and 8:00- 17:30 (winter).

Play in goonroadtrip: Private cars are not allowed in Jigong Mountain Scenic Area, but if you book a hotel on the mountain, you can coordinate with the hotel to drive yourself up the mountain. There is a large parking lot in the tourist distribution center of Jigong Mountain Scenic Area. Private cars can be parked in the tourist distribution center, and then take the scenic tour bus up the mountain.
