Lancangjiang River is actually a freshwater river, but it is really amazing to extract brine from wells along its banks. So people bask in salt on the spot. Because the river bank is steep, people set up wooden shelves to bask in salt according to local conditions.

Glittering and evaporating snowflake salt can be seen everywhere in the puddle next to the salt pond.

The salt pond is made of laminated wood and covered with red mud to dry the salt. Salt water sometimes penetrates the red mud and then drills through the wooden frame under the red mud.
