Legend of Tian Huangshi

Legend 1: According to folklore, the goddess left many lingshi of different sizes after mending the sky. So she traveled all over the land of China, and finally found the mountains and rivers of Shoushan, Fuzhou, full of gas reservoirs, quiet forests and beautiful scenery. She scattered these lingshi, which had been used to mend the sky, on the land of Shoushan, that is, the "Tian Huangshi" hidden in the rice fields of Shoushan.

Legend 2:

The use of Tianhuang began in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty and flourished in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, as evidenced by anecdotal legends. One night, when the sky was high and the moon stars were scarce, Emperor Qianlong had a dream. The Jade Emperor in the sky drove Xiangyun to Ganlong and said something about the country's prosperity, people's peace and the country's security. As he spoke, he handed him a yellow stone. Qianlong woke up, vaguely remembering the word "longevity day" in the jade emperor's words, and the rest were vague.

After the early dynasty, the emperor left several confidant ministers, including Xiao Shenyang, to tell him about the dream he had last night and asked the ministers to explain it. Little Shenyang looked for the answer, but a Fujian-born official answered this question perfectly, and the emperor was very happy. The official said that Fu is from Fujian, Shou is from Shoushan, Tian is from Tian Huang, and that yellow thing in your hand must be Tian Huang from Shoushan, Fujian. The next morning, the official presented a piece of Tian Huang, which is the best in his family's collection. Ganlong feels similar to what he saw in his dream. From then on, Tian Huang was not only a stationery for learning, but also a symbol of wealth, longevity and prosperity when the emperor offered sacrifices.

Legend 3: Empress Dowager Cixi of the Qing Dynasty often hid Tian Huangshi's seal in her belly pocket. One cold winter, the Queen Mother put the seal on the frozen inkpad, and it will be used soon. So there is a saying that Tian Huangshi can melt frozen inkpad.
