Chengdu, also called Rongcheng and Jincheng for short, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Sichuan Province, a provincial capital, a sub-provincial city, a megacity, a national central city and a world food capital. Located in the southwest of China, the west of Sichuan Basin and the hinterland of Chengdu Plain, it has a subtropical monsoon humid climate.
