Travel Notes on Boracay Island, Philippines
Currently, Boracay Island has closed to the public, and we will not be able to go to Boracay Island for a long time. Now the editor will tell you some travel notes about Boracay Island, which should be helpful to you. Let's go and see.
Applying for a visa
All major Taobao companies can handle it. The cost per person is 259, and it can usually be processed in less than 2 weeks. The Philippine visa is a piece of paper. This must be kept well and cannot get wet or dirty, because people will check it when entering and leaving the country. If it gets wet or soiled, they will need to pay a 300p fee and their return visa will need to be kept safe. On your next trip to Vietnam and Myanmar, you will need to see this certificate.
Air tickets
Because I am traveling with my mother, comfort is the main consideration when choosing a flight. There are no direct flights to Boracay because the island is very small and requires buses and boats to get to the island. Therefore, there are two types of flights, one is domestic transfer and the other is international transfer. The domestic transfer is to Calibo Airport, and the international transfer is to Caldicland Airport. Compared to these two airports, I think it is better to fly to Kalibo. It costs 700P for one person to leave the island, but it is relatively comfortable compared to the flight time and generally there will be no delays. Cadillac needs to transfer to Manila or Cebu first. International transfers are troublesome and often delayed, and the Manila airport is even more of a mess. (I heard that a friend was robbed of 1,000P in Manila)
I chose the route from Beijing to Fuzhou by private plane and flew to Caribo. I booked a flight from January 12th to January 19th on Ctrip one month in advance. The round-trip ticket for one person is 2383, which is very reasonable.
Summarize two ways to go to Boracay:
1. Domestic flight-Manila (3.5 hours), Manila-Cardinaran Airport (1 hour), take a car or take a bus The boat reaches the island (within 30 minutes).
Advantages: Mainly for airplanes, it will be slightly better for people suffering from motion sickness. There is no departure tax required when leaving the country.
Disadvantages: There is usually a long time between trips. This time there is a 7.5 hour time difference between our two flights and we need to find a place to rest.
2. Domestic flight - Kalibo Airport (3.5 hours), car (2-3 hours), boat (15 minutes) to the island.
Advantages: No need to wait for the second flight, the whole journey is shorter (tour groups are all at this airport).
Disadvantages: You need to pay a departure tax of 700p when leaving the country, which is equivalent to 100 RMB. People who suffer from motion sickness have to take a long bus ride.
Because I have to rest for four hours in Fuzhou, I bought a VIP room (of course if you have a black card, first class is free)
But I can only rest for 2 hours. Eat and drink whatever you want. The most important thing is that there is no heating and air conditioning in the south, so the entire airport is very cold. Fortunately, VIP has warm air.
Purchased the pick-up and drop-off service to the island
I also bought it from Taobao. Southwest shuttle bus service includes bus fare, boat fare, hotel fee, and environmental tax. It is more convenient to choose the airport shuttle and confirm the hotel address.
Purchase a local calling card
You can choose to purchase a calling card, activate international roaming, or purchase mobile Wi-Fi. There are many options. I bought a local phone card with 4G data for 7 days, but I can't make calls. I need to recharge myself. The signal is stable and I can activate it by changing the card locally. It’s very convenient and can be processed on Taobao.
Choose a hotel to stay in
This time I chose hotels near S1 White Beach, which are relatively quiet and comfortable, not far from the bustling city center, and relatively expensive. However, the hotel has complete supporting facilities and design. The hotel was booked on Ctrip. I booked two hotels for the entire trip because it would be tiring to check in luggage if I kept changing hotels.
The first hotel is called hennannprime (price 900 per night). It has a rich breakfast, an independent swimming pool, and is quiet. I stayed for 5 nights.
It’s okay, but there will be ants. This makes me a little uncomfortable. Furthermore, the hotel is divided into two parts, one close to the beach and the other close to the road. I checked in late at that time, so I arranged it near the road.
Every time I need to go to the beach, I have to cross the road to a corridor to get to the beach. This is the only way to have breakfast.
Hennann has many series, each place is different. There is another one near S2 Commercial Street, which is quite lively. This is pretty good, the price is 900. If you like excitement, you can choose this. It is not recommended to choose a hotel on the mountain. There are many mosquitoes. Looking back, I saw a girl covered in red envelopes, which was very scary. You'd better bring some mosquito repellent.
The second hotel, THELIND, is better, and the price is also higher (2,500 yuan a night). Right next to Friday and the hotel is great! I chose the beach house. You can see the sea from the window. This one also has an infinity swimming pool, which is a great place to take photos.
Because it was already 10 pm when I returned to Fuzhou on the 19th, and the flight left for Beijing at 7:30 the next day, I planned to book a hotel near Fuzhou Airport at an affordable price.
Exchange currency
At that time, I exchanged pesos at the Bank of Beijing, and the exchange rate was not very good. You need to make a reservation three days in advance, and the exchange rate at that time was 7.3. But in fact, it is best to exchange it locally, or into US dollars, because US dollars are accepted almost everywhere, and you can still use them next time if you don’t spend all your money. A local exchange has a great exchange rate. In the S1 area, taxi drivers will know that the exchange rate is not as high elsewhere.
