What is the thing you are most proud of?

The thing I am most proud of is taking my parents on a trip. Because my parents have always stayed in the countryside, although the living conditions are better, they have never seen the outside world, and their vision and thinking are relatively limited. In the first year after starting work, I plan to take my parents to Beijing, a place they have always dreamed of visiting.

Because for our parents, in addition to having a passionate heart for their hometown, the other place is Beijing, because the Monument to the People's Heroes and Chairman Mao are there. First of all, I do their ideological work. After all, they have never traveled far and are afraid of accidents in unfamiliar places. I said you don’t have to be afraid of anything as long as I’m here, just feel free to follow me.

After they agreed, I started booking tickets and booked a week’s travel time. The first stop was to go to Beijing to take my parents to experience the feeling of riding the high-speed rail. My mother can’t ride for a long time, so High-speed rail is a better choice. It only takes five hours to go to Beijing, and flying is the way to return. My sister said she just wanted to see the sea, so I thought Beidaihe was very close to Beijing, so I could go to the beach and take a flight from Tianjin back to Xi'an. In this way, we booked the travel route, booked round-trip tickets, and helped my parents pack their luggage for the trip. The principle is that the less, the better.

It’s August, so most of their travel clothes are short-sleeved. Let each of them prepare three or four sets of changes of clothes, as well as chargers, power banks, cameras, ID cards, bank cards, and wallets. , parasol, sun hat, water bottle, daily necessities including own towels (the hotel towels are too dirty). I packed everything up and was ready to go.

Taking the high-speed rail from Xi'an, my parents saw the high-speed rail station for the first time. They felt that China has changed so much now. They thought that they were so close to Xi'an but had never been to the North Railway Station. The station in my impression is just like the old Xi'an Railway Station. Along the way, my dad was staring out the window intently, marveling at the speed of the high-speed train.

It was already six o'clock in the afternoon when we arrived in Beijing. We got off the car and called the hotel we had booked in advance to ask them to arrange for someone to pick us up. I felt my parents were quite nervous. They said they suddenly felt so far away from home and felt uneasy, so I tried my best to do some ideological work for them. We were originally going to have a special snack of old Beijing, but later we took them to eat noodles near the hotel. Because my parents kept insisting that it didn’t feel like home, I took them to eat noodles specially and asked the chef to put more chili pepper and vinegar for my father. .

The next day we went to Tiananmen Square. We were tired from the journey, so we didn’t let my parents get up too early and took them there by subway. I obeyed my parents’ wishes and went to see Chairman Mao first, but it was too hot that day. We waited in line for two hours under the scorching sun to get to the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, which was considered to have fulfilled my parents’ wish to pay tribute to Chairman Mao. In the afternoon, I went to another hotel where I stayed and played around a bit near the hotel.

We went to the Forbidden City the next day. Although it rained that day, we still braved the rain to see the Forbidden City. Then we took a bus to the Summer Palace. On the third day, we went to Tsinghua University, Peking University and the Bird's Nest Water Cube, and took our parents to experience the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. Early on the fourth day, we took the train to Beidaihe, which was about three hours away and quite close. The hotel owner who had arranged in advance came to pick us up. Accommodation there was very cheap, and there were all small hotels on the beach, so we couldn’t get there in just one night. One hundred dollars.

After arriving, we couldn’t wait to go to the beach as soon as we put down our luggage and ate various seafood barbecues. My parents also saw giant lobsters and various strange sea creatures that they had never seen before. We also bought some handicrafts made of shells. On the fifth day, I went to Pigeon Nest to watch the sunrise, played in the sea water, took a lot of photos, and went to Tiger Hill in the afternoon. On the sixth day, I went to Qinhuangdao and climbed the Great Wall. My dad was very happy because he really wanted to experience the feeling of climbing the Great Wall, but my mother and sister had sore feet and were waiting for me and my dad at the bottom.

On the morning of the seventh day, I took a train from Beidaihe to Tianjin. I tasted Tianjin Goubuli, went to Italian Style Street, and saw the Ferris wheel. Oh, by the way, I even took my parents to see it. The 3D movie "The Last Days of Pompeii", my dad was determined not to tell me where not to watch the movie but to watch it here. I said the 3D movie was very nice and shocking, and it was a rare opportunity to take them to see it anyway. Later, my parents really thought the effect was great and kept asking me to take them to see it more times in the future. After that, we took a sightseeing bus around Tianjin and returned to Xi'an as scheduled early on the eighth day.

This is also the first time for my parents to fly. In fact, as a daughter, I only have a simple purpose, which is to hope that they can enjoy life and relax after working hard for half a lifetime. This trip with my parents has a special meaning to me. It must be the thing I am most proud of. Is there anything in the world that is more important than honoring your parents?
