800 words of college student’s hotel front desk internship experience

Several wonderful and comfortable college years have passed, and what greets us is the challenge of entering social practice. The specific job of my internship this time is the front desk of the hotel. This hotel is a business hotel in our city center. When I first entered the hotel for an interview, I was amazed by the style and environment of the hotel lobby. The lobby is very simple, and I can feel the inner temperament of the hotel from the simple matching. Later in the interview, I learned that this hotel is the product of a successful entrepreneurial venture by a young man, that is, our boss. He is a very talented person. His university major was design. Therefore, most of the design of this hotel was done by him alone. At that time, I felt that instead of calling this place a hotel, it would be better to call it a return to a foreign land.

We had training during the internship. In this training center, I learned more about the hotel’s corporate culture. Just like what I said above about "return to a foreign land", in everyone's impression, all business hotels are dignified and calm. For our hotel, what we really care about is a kind of relaxation and joy after fatigue, and it is also a warm return to a distant place. Although I am just a receptionist, I can see and feel far more than that. If I could describe our hotel in one word, it would be gentle. This is a gentle business hotel, and as the front desk, gentleness is naturally our motto.

After a week of training, I really took up my position. Everything in the hotel is in order, from our every smile, to every small movement and micro-expression, all are very strict. There are four people in charge at our front desk, and height requirements are also very important. Colleagues on duty must be of the same height, and their makeup and posture must be in good condition. This is the minimum requirement for our front desk. Working with me on duty were three very iconic sisters. From them I learned the combination of "gentleness" and "coldness". When we encounter something difficult to handle, we must also maintain our own bottom line, which is our bottom line as a person. It is very important that we occasionally remain "cool" as long as it does not damage the image of the hotel and does not affect the surrounding environment. This not only highlights us personally, but is also an intrinsic quality of our overall hotel.

Only when we truly step into our respective positions, will we understand that the original job is far less simple than what we see. The reason why we think it is easy is because we have not experienced it or practiced it. After my own exploration, I found that no matter what kind of small thing it is, if we don't pay a little attention, it will most likely cause trouble in future work. Therefore, when encountering problems, we must solve them in time and never default. This is not only for the company, but also for us personally.

The internship in the hotel was not very long, but this memory is precious. It brings a different feeling to my life experience. He also made me understand that in addition to appearance, a company must also have its own connotation. And as a people, why don’t we do the same? Therefore, in every step in the future, I will strictly demand myself, gradually enrich my inner self, and achieve both internal and external excellence in myself.
