Just like the lens in the road movie, the sense of emptiness passes through countless bends and tunnels, and some cars will get off a fork in the road and enter unknown places.

Guizhou is hidden in the depths of the inland, such as in the depths of time, but it is out of place. I think, to a great extent, this dreamlike atmosphere in Guizhou provides soil and environment for the creation of roadside picnics.

The Roadside Picnic tells the story of Bobby Chen, the hero, going from Kaili to Zhenyuan to find his little nephew Weiwei, and helping the old doctor bring some souvenirs to his old lover.

However, as mentioned earlier, this is a movie about time. How to get out of time? And how to get out of the shadow of time, so as to "let go", bid farewell to the past and continue to face life.
