1955 - The Emmy Awards were held on both coasts of the United States, at the Moulin Rouge in Hollywood and Nino's LaRue Hotel in New York. NBC spent $110,000 to buy the rights to broadcast the awards show. The awards ceremony is held simultaneously on the east and west coasts, which enhances the authority and publicity of the Emmy Awards.
1956 - Pan Pacific Auditorium in Los Angeles and Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York
1957 - NBC Television's Burbank Studios and New York's Colonial Theatre. This year's awards ceremony achieved the first national color television broadcast.
1958 - Coconut Grove Convention Center in Los Angeles and NBC Studios in New York
1959 - Moulin Rouge in Hollywood, Ziegfeld Theater in New York and the Mayflower in Washington hotel. This is the first live broadcast in three places. The live broadcast coincided with a strike by station technicians, who wore tuxedos in accordance with Emmy's dress code but refused to work. As the number of awards has greatly increased, television broadcasts can no longer bear the lengthy awards ceremony. The creative awards are held in a separate awards ceremony and are not broadcast on television.
From 1971 to 1972, the Emmy Awards were held again at the Patron Theater in Hollywood. For the first time since 1953, the Emmy Awards have become Hollywood's biggest event. Shirley Dinsdale, who won her first Emmy trophy, flew from New York to Hollywood to support the awards ceremony.

1977-1997 - During this period, the 21st Emmy Awards and the Primetime Emmy Awards were held at the same venue, namely the Pasadena Municipal Auditorium in southern California and the northeastern suburbs of Los Angeles. (Pacadena Civic Auditorium). From 1977 to 1995, the Creative Emmy Awards were held at the Municipal Exhibition Hall; in 1996 and 1997, the Creative Emmy Awards were held at Pasadena City College's Sexson Auditorium. In 1977, due to differences between the two academies in New York and Hollywood and other reasons, the Primetime Emmy Awards were moved to September. The Hollywood Academy regained its old name - the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, while the New York Academy changed its name to the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. The two academies select different awards respectively. Hollywood retains the Primetime Emmy Awards, while New York is in charge of daytime programming, documentaries and sports Emmy Awards.
1998-2007 - The ten Emmy Awards during this period were all held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. From 1998 to 2002, the Creative Emmy Awards were held at the Pasadena Municipal Auditorium, then moved to the Temple Theater in subsequent years. In 2002, the Creative Emmy Awards were televised for the first time.

In 2015, the 67th American Primetime Emmy Awards were held at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles.
