I suggest you choose Hanting Xisi Store (online reservation) because it is 0/00 meters away from the subway station/kloc. You can apply for a Beijing bus card there, take Metro Line 4 directly to Yuanmingyuan Station (swipe 2 yuan) to see Tsinghua West Gate and Peking University, then visit the Summer Palace and go to Xiangshan in the afternoon. There is a bus stop to Xiangshan at the North Palace Gate of the Summer Palace (swipe 0.4 yuan). When you come back, you can take the bus from Xiangshan to Beigongmen and the subway from Beigongmen to Xisi.

Go to the Great Wall the next day: take bus No.83 (or No.409) at the North Station on the west fourth floor, get off at Deshengmen Station and transfer to the 9 19 express (or 880), get off at Badaling Station for 650 meters and walk to Badaling Great Wall.

Badaling Back to the Bird's Nest: Take Bus No.880 (or 9 19 Express Station), get off at Xisanqi Bridge South Station and transfer to Bus No.379, get off at Datun South Station and transfer to Bus No.538, and get off at National Stadium East (Bird's Nest) Station for 390 meters and walk to the Bird's Nest, the main venue of the Beijing Olympic Games.

Walk back to Xisi from the Bird's Nest and take bus No.611to the west exit of Zhonghui Road, get off at Zhixinqiao South Station and transfer to bus No.690, and get off at Xisi Road North Station 190 meters and walk to Xisi.

Day 3: Take Metro Line 4 (in the direction of Gongyi West Bridge), change to Metro Line 1 at Xidan Station (in the direction of Sihui East) and get off at Tiananmen East Station (southwest exit D) to the Forbidden City, which is very close to Houhai. Walk to Xibanqiao Station, take bus No.5, get off at Dene Ganshuiqiao Station for 330m and walk to Houhai.

Take a taxi back to Houhai Xisi if there is no traffic jam, before 20 yuan.
