History: Early Wuhu City;

After the county was founded in Wuhu, there were few records about this area for more than three centuries from the middle of the Western Han Dynasty to the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty. This is probably because the rulers of the Han Dynasty concentrated national financial and material resources to resist the Huns and defend the north many times during this period, which affected the development of Jiangnan area. For example, as late as the Eastern Han Dynasty, Niu Geng was unknown in Lujiang across the river from Danyang County, which belonged to Wuhu, while Danyang County in the south of the Yangtze River still retained many primitive customs and habits, and its production was relatively backward.

The origin and evolution of Wuhu place names;

What needs to be added here is the origin of Wuhu.

Wuhu was not originally a settlement, but the name of an ancient lake near Jiuzi. This lake extends from the west of Canshan, now known as the "King of Chu", to the large and small Jingshan areas outside the southeast boundary of Wuhu City, stretching for about 30 miles from east to west, and its northeast is connected with the ancient Danyang Lake. Its name is more common in ancient geographical documents, which explains that this lake "grows weeds due to insufficient water storage", so it is called Wuhu.

Now back to the new moon, the distribution is roughly as follows:

Shenshan Scenic Area: Located in the suburb of Song Cheng, Shenshan has been called the originator of Wuhu Mountain in all previous dynasties, and the scenic spot is characterized by winding mountains and deep knots. Looking at the distant mountains as far as the eye can see, there are thousands of rivers and ships. "The Classic of Pictures" records: "The cadre will sharpen his sword here, and there is a sword grinding pool on it." In the seventh year of the Avenue (A.D.11year), the "Pavilion of Learning" was built on it. According to the county records, this may be caused by imitating the Rain Pavilion written by Su Dongpo, a famous Chinese writer and calligrapher.

Jinghu Scenic Area: Zhang Xiaoxiang, the champion of the Song Dynasty, opened it. There are "returnees come" sites, Yezhitang and Yuanzhao Temple. The scenery is called "mirror lake and fine willows"

Zheshan Scenic Area: Guangji Temple was rebuilt in the period of Xiangfu in the Song Dynasty (1008- 106 1), and it contains the Dizang Hall. There is a drop of Cui Xuan on the right side of the temple and an ochre tower on the mountain. Every time after the rain, the blue light is faint, and this scene is called "Zheshan Blue". Huang Tingjian (Zi Gu), a great poet and calligrapher, studied here.

Ji Jiao: Located on the north bank of the Yangtze River, there is Ningyuan Temple, which was canonized by Emperor Zhao Yu 'an of Song Xiaozong in the second year of Xinglong (A.D.11year). Lu You, Huang Tingjian and later Zhu Yuanzhang have all been here and left inscriptions. This kind of scenery is called "Ji Jiao Smoke Wave".

Jixiang Temple is near Queer Mountain. In the second year of Song Jingyu (A.D. 1032), Emperor Song Renzong named it Auspicious Courtyard. There are Guanlan Pavilion and Sanyuan Hall at the top of the right hall. The scenery is called "the sound of the river".

Wu Boting enters the Yangtze River estuary at Qingyi River. It is a place to bid farewell to distant guests in ancient times. This scene is called "Wu Bo lap dance".
