Eight great families: Dongfang, Ximen, Nangong, Beichen, Sima, Ouyang, Xuanyuan and Yuwen. Does it really exist?

A family is not necessarily a person with a compound surname. It's called family. There are also large families in China, including Su family and Chen family. The compound surname does exist in Ouyang Yuwen, Ximen Nangong, Zhuge Dongfang. People who have never seen the surnames Xuanyuan and Beichen may be confused.
