Introduction to Maotai Town Travel Notes

Moutai is the most famous liquor in Maotai Town. It is known all over the world and is also the most famous liquor in China. Many tourists want to go to Maotai Town to experience the wine culture here, so what are the fun places in Maotai Town?

In China, I am afraid that no place has the scale of industry as Maotai Town. Tens of thousands of people work in the same industry and the same product. Once you enter this town, you will be shocked by the scale.

The market is as big as Maotai Town. It’s hard to imagine that there are two to three thousand wineries in a small town, so when you walk in the streets and alleys of Maotai Town, almost all you see are wine shops.

Of course there are wineries that sell wine, but there are no wineries that sell wine. Therefore, wine shops, wine labels, and brand names will dazzle you.

Maotai’s wine is good, and Maotai’s people feel better. At noon in Maotai Town, there was naturally no place to park on the winding streets, so I drove into a large hotel called "Yangliuwan". Hotels with hundreds of beds have no houses. A security guard came over to help us contact several nearby hotels, and then told us to go to a hotel called "Yuantu". The car couldn't drive through because there were more than 40 steps. The young man checked in and helped us contact a parking garage. Ten dollars, no time limit. Park the car and take down your luggage. There is still a long way to go. This young man just drove us to help us reach the neighborhood. I said let's eat together. He said he had already eaten. His enthusiasm warms our hearts.

The "Yuantu" Hotel is actually a liquor industry group. Many wine companies expand their businesses and open hotels when they make enough money.

At noon, the hotel proprietress recommended that we eat tofu fish in sour soup at a restaurant called "Zouji Restaurant". The girl at the hotel once said that a fish is too big for you two to eat, so she recommended that we eat grilled fish. We thought it was ok.

It took a while for the dishes to arrive, a piece of grilled fish, a piece of fried cabbage, and a small pot of rice. The grilled fish was also two crucian carps. The portion was so heavy that it was almost inedible.

Really delicious. Since there weren't many diners in the restaurant, the chef came over and asked us how it tasted. We said it was excellent, and he was naturally very happy.

I said the grilled fish in Chongqing is particularly delicious, but this grilled fish is even more delicious than the one in Chongqing. He said I am from Chongqing. After chatting for a long time, he said he had been to Tianjin, and I said where. He said that Huanghua is a place with particularly delicious seafood, and he had a very good impression. He went to Tianjin from Huanghua.

We went for a walk in the afternoon and met many people from wineries who invited us to visit. One is called "Gantai" and the other is called "Hantai". I can't drink, ma'am. She tasted two glasses and said they were delicious.

The place where we live is called "1915" Square. There is a Red Army Bridge on the Chishui River, where the Red Army once crossed the Chishui River four times. There are Sidu Chishui Memorial Hall and Park nearby, and there are many sculptures in the square.

There is also a sculpture of a Moutai bottle thrown by Moutai people at the Panama Exhibition. Near the Chishui River is the newly built pedestrian street in Maotai Town, which of course also has many shops.

What's more, they are all old-fashioned foot buildings, four or five stories high, nestled against mountains and rivers. They look antique, but the shops are decorated with a modern commercial atmosphere.

In Maotai, the footprints of the Red Army can be seen everywhere in this small town. There is a primary school founded by the First Army called "Red Army Primary School". Wine culture can be seen everywhere. There are countless restaurant signs here. The intersection of history and modernity makes this place full of hope!

It was almost nine o'clock when I woke up, and I was still struggling with whether to go or stay. I like the style of the town and I especially want to stay one more day because every corner looks so exquisite.

However, no matter how refined it is, it still means the same thing. So after washing up, we went to have breakfast on an island not far below the hotel. My wife likes western food, so I ordered coffee and western food, and I ordered beef noodles.

The total *** spent was eighty-eight yuan. In fact, traveling is a way of life, that is, the difference between stillness and movement is at home and outside.

I have wanted to visit the Maotai Distillery since yesterday, but there are no taxis or buses in Maotai Town for half an hour. Also, my feet hurt and I didn’t want to walk, so I didn’t see it yesterday. I wanted to see if I could leave today, so I strolled over.

You can taste wine just a few steps down the road. There are various brands. We say that if we don’t drink, we won’t buy wine, but others say it doesn’t matter. Since we are in Maotai Town, we are guests. Maotai has nothing but wine. It doesn’t matter whether you buy it or not, just make friends.

So all the way, all the way.

To be honest, the brewing technology, production process, natural conditions, and technical level of Maotai Town are generally similar. There are high and low wines. You can drink the same wine at the same price without much difference.

But prices also vary, making it difficult for you to judge. If you want to buy it, you can only buy based on your feeling. Because from one hundred and eighty yuan, to two to three thousand yuan, or even tens of thousands of yuan, it all depends on your own needs. This is of course the price of a bottle.

In fact, the wine tasting process is quite good. Chat with the locals and they'll be willing to chat too. You can feel that there is too much wine in every household, so you are in a hurry to sell it. So when I see a foreigner, I will strike up a conversation with him, and then I will be dragged to his shop to taste wine.

But we don’t have much time in the morning. Our hotel kept calling us to let us decide whether to stay or check out. In fact, they wanted us to stay because we were the only one on the second floor and the other rooms were empty. So we told them we would definitely check out before two o'clock.

Because of the long distance, I came to the back door of Maotai Cultural City. Inside the back door are old houses in the ancient town. Many of the houses are empty and have no residents. The old courtyards, old wineries, and old shops all make people feel desolate. But you can imagine the original glory.

I had to have lunch before going back to the hotel. Yesterday's grilled fish was delicious, but it felt too oily, so today I want to eat fish in sour soup. So I went to the restaurant yesterday. When I got there a little faster, I realized that what I ate yesterday was not what the boss lady recommended.

Zouji Restaurant is upstairs from yesterday’s restaurant. When we entered, the little girl greeted us happily, but we found that this was not "Zouji Restaurant" and they did not have fish in sour soup. So I was embarrassed to say that I would eat upstairs, but the little girl said it was fine.

This sour fish soup uses croaker. Sixty-eight pounds. Give us three pounds. Ask us if we want it. Now that we're here, let's eat. The chef is very fast. It came out in about five or six minutes, but it still had to be cooked in sour soup. There was a hot pot on the table and it was ready quickly. To be honest, I can't say how delicious it is. What I ate was local specialties. The fish was very delicate, and when I was almost finished, I realized there was no tofu. They said they had forgotten and hurriedly put it in, and then gave them a lot of food, but they couldn't eat it. 214 for a meal.

You have to climb fifty or sixty steps with your luggage and walk two to three hundred meters to get to the garage. This is the inconvenience of moving around in Maotai. The garage doorman said it had been more than twenty-four hours and we wanted to give him another ten dollars, but he didn't say anything after we drove away.

Just after leaving Maotai Town, I met a lucky man at a place around the island. In front of us, she was in the back licking the rear left corner of our car. We put some paint on the car, but her car was in shambles, the front bumper was falling apart and it wouldn't drive.

A young couple, the wife is driving. When the man got out of the car, he and his wife were in a hurry. He told you to brake, but you didn't listen. We quickly went over to persuade him to fight. The young man asked for insurance. I said, "Look, we are waiting for the road. You can do whatever you want."

He said, you say it, I said, don't let me say it. I said this car would be expensive if it went into Fourth Son's shop. He said he would give you 300 yuan. I said yes, and his wife paid with her mobile phone, and then thanked us profusely. One episode was quickly resolved.

It is 280 kilometers from Maotai Town to Anshun. Starting at two o'clock, the road was blocked several times. It was almost seven o'clock when I arrived at the hotel. In this busy day, I walked a lot. Madam, look at her phone. Eleven thousand steps are not many steps, but they are all on the ladder. I still feel a little tired.
