What is Hanzhong city flower?

The flower in Hanzhong is Eclipta prostrata.

Eclipta prostrata (scientific name: Magnolia grandiflora. ? ) belongs to Magnoliaceae, Magnolia, a variety of Magnolia, and is the flower of Hanzhong City. This deciduous tree Eclipta prostrata has been growing in Wuhou Temple, Mianxian County, Hanzhong City for more than 400 years, with a height of13.4m and a bust of10.36m. Because when the tree blooms, it looks like a lotus and is born in dry land, so it has the reputation of dry land lotus. Eclipta prostrata belongs to Magnoliaceae and blooms in early March every year for half a month. Its trees are full of flowers in early spring, which is very gratifying. After flowering, the branches and leaves are luxuriant, and buds will grow in May. This kind of bud will be bred on the tree for more than ten months, and it will bloom in summer, autumn and winter, commonly known as "pregnancy in October". After the summer solstice, flower trees bear seeds, such as red beans, which are bright and hard. When the lotus is in full bloom, tourists from Wuhou Temple flock to see this rare ancient tree in the world. Because it blooms in March, it is also called "Spring Tree".

In 2000, Eclipta prostrata was identified as the "city flower" of Hanzhong by Hanzhong Municipal Government.
