China Tian Heng Festival originated from Tian Heng Island, a provincial tourist resort, and was named after Tian Heng and 500 righteous men in the late Qin and early Han Dynasties. It is a marine folk culture tourist resort with a history of more than 2,000 years along the eastern coast of Qingdao. Fishermen living in Tian Heng have been fishing for generations. Due to the limited production and operation capacity, shipwrecks occur from time to time, so fishermen pin their hopes for peace and harvest on their sincere prayers to Poseidon. At first, the activity of offering sacrifices to the sea was very simple, and there was no fixed date. Most of them began to worship the sea after all the production was ready, such as repairing ships and buying fishing gear, or chose local people to tell the birthday story of the Middle East sea dragon king or Mazu goddess, or picked an auspicious day to carry fishing nets on board. At this time, the fishermen put on new clothes, hung their newly renovated boats with colorful flags, set off firecrackers and drums all the way, and anchored at sea. When sending a ship out to sea, it is also a custom to throw food into the sea to protect the Dragon King. On the day of offering sacrifices to the sea, fishermen will also put up various sacrifices such as big fat pig, sweet cake, red rooster and big bass. Burn Taiping documents, kowtow devoutly, and go to sea the next day. About 1 0,000 years ago, Tian Heng's activities of offering sacrifices to the sea began to take shape, forming a collective activity of sending ships to sea by families or ship groups. Nowadays, with the decrease of ships going to sea and the increase of coastal aquaculture, the participants in the worship of Poseidon have changed from the original boatmen to today's professional households in raising ginseng and raising seedlings.

The first thing to worship the sea is to steam the dough. Four or five days in advance, fishermen's wives were busy running around to discuss new dough styles. The dough has different sizes and shapes, and the shapes such as "Dragon and Phoenix are auspicious, Eight Immortals cross the sea, a hundred flowers blossom, and an underwater world" are lifelike. Panlong Mianren, commonly known as "Shen Chong" and "Shengchong" (meaning "Shen Sheng"), has a head, eyes, body and tail, vivid selection of materials, bright colors and bright spirits. Now the daughters-in-law are busy working to make money, and the special steamed bread shop undertakes the heavy responsibility of steaming dough.

Then choose three kinds of animals: pigs, chickens and fish. Black-haired boar is more suitable for pigs. The bigger the boar, the better. After the slaughter, only a pinch of black hair is left on the pig's neck, which means that the whole pig has hair, and it is tied into red flowers with red silk and hung around the pig's head and neck. After the pig was killed, it was inflated under the skin and then tied to a low wooden table with four legs with red paint. It stood with its head held high, and its back was covered with a layer of netted grease film, symbolizing that a fish the size of a wild boar was caught in a net. Chicken should choose red rooster, and fish should use big fresh bass.

Decorate the Longwang Temple. A few days before the sea sacrifice, the captains recommended someone to clean and decorate the surrounding area of Longwang Temple, hang red lanterns and stick red couplets on the screen wall. On the beach in front of Longwang Temple, the pine and cypress gate should be erected by an old artist and covered with colorful lights. There are plaques on the pine and cypress gate, pavilions with dragon balls and fish jumping at the dragon gate on both sides, and red couplets attached, which are spectacular; A temporary stage will be set up on the beach.

Training ship. On the day before the sacrifice, fishermen should put their fishing boats in order, and then put up big red couplets: "More blessings, more wealth and more glory, good harvest in good years", "Good weather, full load" and "Li and fish are full and calm". The main mast of the ship is marked with "The generals are majestic all around", the second mast is marked with "The two generals are majestic", the back mast is marked with "The bow travels for a thousand miles without waves" and the stern is marked with "The ship is popular for a thousand miles behind". Fishing boats should be moored in a straight line to Wanqian Village, with the stern facing the shore and the bow facing the sea, and anchored.

On the day of the sacrificial ceremony, fishermen began to lay confessions on the beach in front of Longwang Temple before sunrise. The table is covered with auspicious red cloth, and there are three animals, dough figurines, bass, wine, peanuts and so on. In front of each group of tables, a bunch of four or five meters high "vertical tassels" (the symbol of underwater net) tied with bamboo poles should be erected. Put away the burnt yellow paper and incense burner, put a few firecrackers around the bamboo pole, line up and wait for a good opportunity.

Salute. In the past, the sooner you sacrifice to the sea, the better. There is a saying that you get rich first. When the time comes, firecrackers will be ringing, gongs and drums will be loud, and people will be buzzing. People began to burn incense and paper and kowtow. Fishermen also believe that whoever sets off firecrackers loudly and lasts for a long time will prosper and make a fortune this year.

Singing opera. The local people think that Beijing opera is solemn and magnificent, and they invite the troupe to sing several times a year. Folk performances such as yangko, dragon lantern, dry boat and waist drum are very lively, and the fishermen's fatigue after a year's work seems to be gone.

Dinner. After the ceremony of offering sacrifices to the sea, fishermen are used to dining on the boat, and pedestrians are welcome to eat fish, meat and drink on the boat. The more people come, the more people come to bless. Now a banquet is held at home to entertain relatives and friends who came to attend the sea sacrifice ceremony. Three sacrificial offerings, wine and steamed bread became the main food for dinner.

Go to sea. On the second day of offering sacrifices to the sea, the fishermen began a one-year voyage.
