The origin of Yanqi Lake

Yanqi Lake, formerly known as Beitaishang Reservoir, has a water surface of about 1.500 mu, a volume of 30 million cubic meters and the deepest part of the lake is about 82 meters. The water in the lake is made up of several small rivers, the most important of which is Yanqi River, hence the name Yanqi Lake.

Yanqi Island (Yanqi Peninsula) has a total area of about 65 hectares (975 mu) and a total construction area of 6.5438+0.8 million square meters. The construction contents mainly include Beijing Yanqi Lake International Conference Center, Yanqi Hotel, Yanqi Building and twelve state guest villas.

The vegetation coverage rate of the whole scenic spot is 90%. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, it forms a natural barrier.
