The plot where the "White House" is located was originally a "Hong Ting" restaurant built by Liuhuahu Park to solve the employment of educated youth returning to the city. 1992 "The Red Pavilion" restaurant was transformed into a "White House" with European classical architectural style to meet the catering service demand of the former Canton Fair. It has become an important scenic spot and landmark building of Liuhua Lake Park, which is integrated with the landscape and water color of the park and echoes the surrounding garden buildings. 16 years ago, Tangyuan Restaurant was officially put into operation.

Since the renovation of Liuhuahu Park last year, Tangyuan Restaurant has been closed at the expiration of the contract as planned. According to the introduction of the park management department, after the closure of Tangyuan Restaurant, it is planned to transform the "White House" into Guangzhou Garden Museum or Expo Hall, which will display outstanding works of Lingnan gardens. The surrounding green space will be built into an open outdoor exhibition garden with supporting leisure facilities. At present, the relevant departments have carried out the preliminary work of museum construction, and the project has been included in the 20 15 urban construction project library.
