Today in history: July 28th.

On this day in history:1July 28th, 794, this man who was once a hero of the French Revolution suffered a shocking fall from grace. His enthusiasm and tireless dedication to the cause made him an obvious choice to lead the most radical stage of the revolution, that is, the reign of terror. Ironically, it was these qualities that led to his rule and the reason why he was cursed. He studied law, 1879, and was elected as a civilian representative of Alas in the Real Estate Association. When the third National Assembly was established, robespierre became a leading member of the revolutionary group. His political stance is democratic and radical, and he even believes in abolishing the death penalty. He soon changed his mind. 1793 In July, robespierre was elected as a member of the Public Security Committee 12, which was established to protect France from domestic and foreign enemies. On June+10, 5438, the Committee passed an emergency decree, which was the first time in history that terrorism was declared as an officially recognized legal policy.

In a speech in February 1794, robespierre proved the legality of using coercion and violence during the revolution:

If people in peacetime are based on virtue, people in revolutionary times are based on virtue and terror; Without virtue, terror is harmful; Virtue is powerless without terror. Terror is nothing more than quick, severe and rigid justice; Therefore, it is the spread of virtue; It is not a principle in itself, but the result of the universal principle of democracy that patriots need most urgently. The reign of terror of "democratic tyranny" and "democratic tyranny" began. In less than a year, 300,000 revolutionary suspects were arrested, 1 10,000 people died in prison, and 1.7 million people dated the guillotine. Among these unfortunate souls, many people proved to be the pain of robespierre Dreier. Even the king and queen Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette were knocked down. (See Marie Antoinette never said "Let them eat cake")

1on June 4th, 794, robespierre was elected president of the National Assembly by an overwhelming margin. Within a week, a law was passed to suspend the suspect's right to legal aid and trial. When 1400 revolutionary enemies were beheaded within one month, the executioner was quite solved.

The French people have finally had enough. Robespierre is not the only person responsible for the terrorist bloodshed, but he is the one who fate and other committee members decided to be responsible. 1797 On July 27th, robespierre and its allies were declared illegal. After hearing the news, robespierre fled to the DeVille Hotel and attempted suicide. He was shot in the head, but only hurt his chin. Soon after, he was arrested by the army of the National Assembly. The next night, in Revolution Square, Maxi milian robespierre and other 2/kloc-0 people were guillotined without trial. His last moments must have been exhausted. Just before he was executed, the bandage that tied his chin was rudely torn off. To make matters worse, he met death-at the last moment of his life, he looked up and saw the blade coming at him.
