The General Principles of the Civil Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) and Article 110 of the national laws stipulate: "Natural persons have the right to life, body, health, name, portrait, reputation, honor, privacy and marital autonomy. Legal persons and unincorporated organizations enjoy the right to name, reputation and honor. If the perpetrator secretly filmed the private sexual life of the victim's house and spread the video through the Internet, the perpetrator was suspected of spreading obscene articles. If the circumstances are serious, they shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than two years, criminal detention or public surveillance. Whoever disseminates obscene articles to minors under the age of 18 shall be given a heavier punishment.

If the actor spreads video for profit, he is suspected of committing the crime of spreading obscene articles for profit, and can be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years, criminal detention or control, and fined; If the circumstances are serious, he shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than three years but not more than ten years and shall also be fined; If the circumstances are especially serious, they shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than 10 years or life imprisonment, and shall also be fined or confiscated.
