Weather forecast for April in Jiuzhaigou, Dujiangyan, and Huanglong, Sichuan Province

Chengdu Jiuzhaigou Travel Notes

I missed the low-priced off-season. In order to match the schedule, I had to choose to travel in the peak season. Before May, it is generally the off-season to visit Jiuzhaigou. The ticket is 80 and the sightseeing bus is 80. The price is more than half that of the peak season, and air tickets are also discounted. This trip is scheduled for May 31, Shanghai 9:00--16:00. Metro Line 2 has a line to Pudong Airport for 7 yuan. If you exceed this time period, choose Maglev (with air tickets) 40/person/6 minutes one way. Arrive at Pudong Airport. 11:30 noon Shanghai Pudong Airport - 14:25 Chengdu Shuangliu Airport, air ticket including tax 900/person Sichuan Airlines, Shuangliu Airport bus 10/person to the city, half an hour's drive. Many people on the Internet said that taxis in Chengdu are difficult to get. This trip to Chengdu had no experience at all. Taking taxis went smoothly for a few days. The starting price is 5 yuan, which is relatively cheap. Choose to stay at Hanting Express Chunxi Branch

170/night, double bed room, the bed is about 1.4 meters, which does not affect the two people's rest at all. This hotel has a free bicycle rental service. With a deposit of 300 per vehicle, you can go shopping by bicycle. It is only a five-minute drive from Chunxi Road. It is worth noting that bicycles in Chengdu follow the same traffic rules as cars. You cannot turn left or right at many intersections. Bicycles, like cars, must be parked in designated places and cannot be parked casually on the roadside. The designated parking spots have closing times. If you exceed the time, you can only come back the next day to pick up the car and pay for one night.

In the afternoon of 5/31, I went shopping on Chunxi Road to eat snacks. I ate three kinds of snacks, one was similar to Roujiamo, one was similar to Shaobing, and one was similar to glutinous rice cake. The cost is two yuan, four yuan, or six yuan. Fried potato skewers cost 3 yuan. I brushed them with chili powder myself. I watched the little girl from Chengdu bury the potato skewers in the chili powder and pounded them hard. I wanted to crush them into a piece of chili powder. It was very scary. Spicy jelly is very interesting. The smooth and cool jelly combined with the fiery spicy seasoning is really a perfect mix of ice and fire. Fat rice rolls, vermicelli buried in spicy oil soup, served with bean sprouts and boiled fat intestines. At the Long Chao Shou main store on Chunxi Road, a bowl of Long Chao Shou is just small wontons. There are one or two pieces of chicken and some mushrooms in the soup. It doesn’t taste very good. Zhangcha duck, cold dishes, so-so. Dandan noodles are a type of noodles, and the seasoning is spicy. Eating from afternoon to evening, shopping and eating all the way, leisurely.

6/1 I slept until I woke up naturally. It was already noon. I walked to Jinli without any hurry. The snacks here are a large collection. They have everything. The price is indeed more expensive than outside, but here we are. Just eat something. After all, it saves a lot of leg energy to go to one store after another to find food. The three cannons and yellow cakes are all glutinous rice dumplings. I forgot the exact name of the picture. Anyway, there are things like steamed beef in rice flour. Picture of couple's lungs. After eating, we take a break and take a walk. Jinli not only has a snack street, but also shops, both open-air and indoor full of atmosphere. There are teahouses, coffee shops, donuts, and park-like promenades, rivers, and grasslands, so you can spend some time wandering around. When I get tired from walking around, I sit under the shade of a tree and have two cups of chrysanthemum, red dates and wolfberry tea to relieve the spicy heat. I feel a little drowsy just sitting there. At this time, ear picking is very comfortable. 10 yuan/person , then massage the neck and back, 20 yuan/person, absolutely authentic Chengdu style leisurely and contented. After resting enough, we wandered to the promenade by the river. There were old people playing and singing, and Sichuan Opera. I didn’t quite understand it, but I felt the atmosphere. It’s time to arrange your trip to Jiuzhaigou. Many travel agencies have quoted prices for a three-day tour with two flights to Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong. The cost is 1,450 per person including round-trip air tickets plus tax. Tickets to Huanglong are 200 per person, and tickets to Jiuzhaigou are 310 per person. Two nights’ accommodation and three meals. Main meals and two breakfasts. Airplane insurance is purchased separately and costs 20/person/one way. We originally planned to travel the whole journey independently, but the air tickets from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou during the peak season were full price 1080/person/one way, which was obviously too high. If you are cheap, you can choose a car. The journey takes about 10 hours. The price is 125/person from Chadianzi Bus Station. The shuttle bus leaves at 8:00 in the morning. The mountain road is rugged and has many curves. It is likely that your bones will fall apart after the bumps along the way.

Therefore, the travel agency’s quotation is quite reasonable, and it saves you the trouble of chartering a car to and from the airport and scenic spots in Jiuzhaigou. This kind of group needs to be booked two days in advance, that is, the group is booked today and leaves the day after tomorrow. After we were done, we took a taxi to Huangcheng Laoma Hot Pot. The reviews online were good. In fact, there is one on Qintai Road, but the driver had to take us to a remote one. The buffet hot pot was 124 yuan per person and there was a live band performance. I don’t know if the one on Qintai Road is in this price range. It's really expensive. If you feel tired at night, you can go to Fuqiao for a massage, 68/person/foot.

For the convenience of sightseeing, I changed to a hotel on 6/2, City Inn, 172/night/double bed room, the bed is spacious enough, including two breakfasts, very close to Qintai Road, a five-minute walk, wide and narrow The alley is also super close, just across the road, and Qingyang Palace can be reached on foot. This hotel is running an event. If you stay for two nights or more in a row, you will receive a one-night voucher, which can be used to stay for one night for free in city inns in various places. It should also be able to be used directly in Chengdu. On Qintai Road there is Fuqiao, Huangcheng Laoma Hotpot, Shufeng Yayun (Sichuan Opera Face Changing 150/person), and many old shops. I visited Qingyang Palace and Du Fu Thatched Cottage is also very close. There were many little girls in Taoist robes inside the Qingyang Palace. They said they were giving free explanations. They walked around and took us to a place where they asked us to get a zodiac card and show it to a certain senior brother. They would give you free guidance. The result was They asked us to light some lotus lanterns in two or three sentences, 99/light. Two people asked us to light two lanterns. If we don’t light them, it would be unlucky. I feel dizzy. Kuanzhai Alley, there are relatively few shops in Kuanzhai Alley and it is relatively deserted. The narrow alley has many bourgeois-style coffee shops, outdoor tea bars, clubs, etc., as well as many shops. It is the most popular one. There are mostly small stalls selling things, snacks, dolls, etc. in Jing Alley, and there are relatively few people. However, things here are indeed much cheaper than in Jinli. A kind of spicy beans costs 38 yuan per catty in Jinli, but only 25 yuan per catty here. Why is there such a big difference? Tonight, I am going to Shunxing Old Tea House to drink tea and watch the face changing. It is divided into two parts: eating and drinking tea. To drink tea and watch the face changing, you need to reserve a seat. Tel: 028-87693202 Address: No. 258 Shawan Road, Chengdu, Chengdu International Convention and Exhibition Center 3 The show starts at 8:00 every night, including singing and dancing, tea art performances, hand shadows, burlesque, and the most exciting face-changing and fire-breathing performances. The performance lasts 1 hour, the second row is 88/person, the fourth row is 58/person, and each person has a cup of tea with unlimited refills, plus a plate of soybeans. In fact, the space is not big, and you can see clearly from the fourth and fifth rows. The performance is quite exciting and worth watching. Only by watching it while drinking tea can you truly experience the leisure and contentment of Chengdu people. I have to go back to bed early tonight, and I have to catch an early flight tomorrow.

Get up at 6:30 on 6/3, and the hotel will open for breakfast at 7:00. It takes about half an hour to take a taxi to Shuangliu Airport. It's best to agree with the driver whether you want to go to the new terminal or the old terminal, so that you can save some distance. Generally, flights within Sichuan Province are at the old terminal. When you go to the airport, you will pass through a toll station, which costs 10 yuan per car. This fee is included in your fare. Our taxi fare is 50 yuan per trip. I have long heard that flights to Jiuzhaigou are always bad. Nine out of ten flights will take a late flight, and one will have to return home. Sure enough, our flight took off two and a half hours late. Later, I heard from a local agent in Jiuzhai that Sichuan Airlines usually flies less late flights. Sichuan Airlines is brave and dares to fly even when the weather is bad, but nothing happened. When I was waiting for my flight at the airport, there was a lunch provided at the airport due to the delay, but it was extremely unpalatable. It took 45 minutes to fly to Jiuzhaigou. The ground temperature was 9 degrees, which was more than ten degrees lower than Chengdu. It was so cold wearing short sleeves. As soon as we came out of the passage, we met the tour guide. I heard that it had just snowed yesterday and it was sunny today, but the ultraviolet rays were particularly strong. The tour guide told us to take precautions. We got on the bus and drove all the way to Huanglong, which took about an hour's drive. After getting on the bus, everyone felt a little chest tight or sleepy. The tour guide told us not to sleep within the first two hours after arriving at the plateau area, because our hearts were in a congested state at this time, so the tour guide loudly explained to us the local customs and customs . It is also worth noting that you can only drink a small amount of water, you cannot eat too much or go hungry, and you cannot do strenuous exercise.

We passed by Chuanzhu Temple on the way and had our first meal on the plateau. The tour guide gave us full psychological preparation before, saying that the water on the plateau cannot be boiled and the rice cannot be cooked, but it turned out to be quite good. Not bad, not as difficult as the tour guide said. Then our car passed by Xuebaoding and stopped for us to take pictures. The snow-capped mountains were really spectacular, and it was also snowing. We shivered in the snow and admired the majestic snow-capped mountains, which was unique. The highest altitude of the places we passed was more than 4,000 meters. To prevent altitude sickness, we bought Rhodiola rosea capsules in Chengdu, 38 yuan/box, 24 capsules. The oral liquid sold here only costs 100 yuan. Huanglong tickets cost 200/person. It was already past four o'clock when we arrived. We didn't have time to take the ropeway, so we climbed up by ourselves. Many seas were dry and there was no water. There were very few places with water. We were disappointed. Maybe it was not the season we came. That's right, the scenery is just so-so. It was nearly seven o'clock when we left Huanglong. After bumping on the mountain road for three hours, we finally arrived at the hotel. We stayed at the Armed Police Reception Center, which is open to the public. The room rate was estimated to be around 200. Unexpectedly, there was 24-hour hot water. Disposable toiletries are provided, so I brought them myself. The room is nice, but there is no hair dryer to borrow. If you wash your hair at night, it will be difficult to dry it. Don't expect your washed socks, towels, etc. to dry.

6/4 The Self-Travel Youth Hostel is only a few minutes' walk from Mizoguchi. The hostel environment is very good. The hostel has free bicycle rental service, and the tickets are 220-90 (sightseeing car)-***310/person. Generally speaking, the sightseeing bus will take everyone to the highest point of the two ditches, allowing everyone to visit the two ditches on their own while going down. You can also take the sightseeing bus at the boarding point at any time along the way. There is a buffet in Nuorilang Center, which is divided into three levels, 120/person, 80/person, 50/person. We ate the 50/person. Many dishes were already empty when we entered. There were only a few varieties, so we just filled them up. Fill your stomach, at least there is still a bowl of hot soup to drink. Instant noodles are also sold outside for 15 yuan/bowl, ham sausages are 5 yuan/stick, and biscuits are 7-8 yuan. We visited the scenic spot until 5 o'clock. Participated in the self-funded project

Go to a Tibetan home for dinner, RMB 150/person. After getting off the bus, Tibetans offered hadas to everyone one by one. Most people use white hadas. The one we went to is very special. They use yellow hadas, which means that their family has a living Buddha. The dinner was very sumptuous, including roasted whole lamb, young yak stewed with herbs, highland barley wine, butter tea, highland barley cakes, black fungus, and some mountain vegetables whose names I can’t remember. The roasted whole lamb is relatively tough, and they seem to have basically no seasonings, only chili powder for dipping, and the taste is relatively bland, which is very different from the squeaky and oily lamb skewers in my impression. The alcohol content of highland barley wine is relatively low, only about 11 degrees. During the meal, a beautiful Tibetan girl taught everyone the etiquette of toasting and sang for everyone. Her voice was really bright. After dinner, everyone came to the yard to dance around the bonfire. It was very lively. The enthusiastic Tibetan guy suddenly grabbed a girl and teamed up with several brothers to throw her into the air. The blue sky and colorful prayer flags swayed in the wind. , so beautiful. It gets dark very late in Jiuzhaigou, and it doesn't start to get dark until around nine o'clock. After leaving the Tibetan home, everyone went straight to the Jiuzhaigou Tibetan Mi Grand Theater, RMB 150/person, to watch a performance of about two hours. The performance was in the form of a song and dance musical. It shows people the mysterious characteristics of different Tibetan factions and allows people to understand Tibetans in an all-round way. The stage effect is very shocking and definitely worth the price of admission.

6/5 Our flight was at 11:55 noon. The weather in Jiuzhai changed rapidly. There was hail yesterday. In order to avoid landslides, we set off very early. There is a river in front of the hotel. The guide said that if the water flow is very fast and the color is turbid, it means it is raining heavily on the mountain. The chance of a late flight at noon of the day is relatively small, and we are flying Sichuan Airlines. It seems that catching the 4:15 pm flight to Shanghai is not a big problem. Sure enough, the plane took off on time and we returned to Chengdu on time smoothly. Rest at the airport and prepare to board the flight back to Shanghai....
