There are two main types of characteristic houses in Bamei Village: floor-standing and semi-floor-standing houses. The main house is made of wooden boards, surrounded by branches, and then coated with clay made of soil and cow dung. It is very airy and warm. It is covered with a tile roof, a wardrobe, a front-mounted cold rail or fence, people live upstairs, livestock are closed downstairs, and sundries are piled up. Some people call it Malanlou. These old-fashioned home buildings, such as Malanlou, show historical features and are living fossils of traditional Zhuang architecture.

The villagers in Bamei Village basically produce their own food, clothing, housing and transportation. Rotating waterwheels, canoes, artificial stone mills, water mills, rafts, water spinning machines, wooden oil presses, wooden bellows, wooden pear sticks, wooden back wooden frames, wooden ladders, wooden chopping boards, wooden lampstands and wooden triangles can be seen everywhere in the stockade. Their simplicity solidified history and conveyed ancient cultural information.

If you want to feel the peasant style, you can choose to stay at Bamei Farmhouse. You can also go back to Ako town from Bamei to stay. There are many farmhouses in Bamei Village for accommodation. The farmhouses with better accommodation conditions in the village are: Big Banyan Tree, Fuliang Farmhouse, Green Man Island, Tea House and Yuanxiyuan Inn.

The clothes worn by the villagers in Bamei Village are handmade homespun, and the whole process from cotton planting, spinning, weaving, bleaching and dyeing, garment making and garden flowers is completed by hand in the family. Women's clothing is black plaid corner Baotou, black blue and purple round collar, narrow sleeves and waist, left oblique bird wing round skirt, black pleated pants and embroidered cloth shoes; Casual clothes are black-headed handkerchiefs, flower headscarves, green, blue, black and white round neck, wide sleeves, wide waist, left oblique round skirt, black pants and embroidered cloth shoes; Men's wear is black headscarf, black double-breasted clothes and wide crotch pants. Bird-shaped clothing is related to the bird worship of ancient Zhuang ancestors. There is little difference between the clothes of local Sha people and Nong people.

1. Transportation: 480 kilometers from Kunming to Guangnan. Kunming South Bus Station has a bus to Guangnan every day for 8 hours, and stops in Guangnan that night. The next day, I took a bus from Guangnan to Bamei.

2. Folk activities: Dragon Boat Festival, fishing, water-splashing festival, singing, playing with lions, playing badminton and practicing ancient weapons.

3. Timing: The main purpose of going to Bamei is to experience the special folk customs and living environment here, so you need to stay here for more time, and you can't take a cursory look, and 2-3 days is appropriate.
