Guiyuan Temple is located on Guiyuan Temple Road, Hanyang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. It was founded by Master Baiguang in the 15th year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty (AD 1658) built. It covers an area of ??153 acres, has more than 200 temples, and more than 7,000 volumes of various Buddhist classics. Guiyuan Zen Temple belongs to the Caodong Sect, one of the five schools and seven sects of Zen Buddhism, so it is called Guiyuan Zen Temple. It was first built in the 18th year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1661) and has been repaired many times. The current Main Hall was rebuilt in the 34th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1908). In the middle of the hall is a seated statue of Sakyamuni, flanked by his disciples Ananda and Kassapa on both sides, both of which are sculptures of the Buddha. The four characters "Mainxiong Palace" on the banner were written by Feng Jiahao, a great calligrapher of the Qing Dynasty.

The Sutra Pavilion is the main building of the North Courtyard. It is a place where Buddhist classics and art treasures are collected. The hall inside the Sutra Pavilion is high and broad, and in the center is a white jade seated statue of Sakyamuni Buddha. It was presented to Guiyuan Zen Temple in August 1935 by the disciples of the Three Treasures of Buddhism in Myanmar. It weighs about 2 tons. It was used by Burmese craftsmen to use a piece weighing about 3 tons. , carved from milky white jade about 2 meters high, and was one of the "Four Great Jade Buddhas in China" in the 1930s.
(3) Luohan Hall
The Luohan Hall in the temple was built in the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty. In the second year of Xianfeng (1852), it was destroyed by the war. It was rebuilt in 1902 and has been in existence for nearly two decades. Hundreds of years of history. The Luohan Hall is laid out in a "field" shape, with more than 500 statues placed there. The Five Hundred Arhats in Guiyuan Temple are based on the stone rubbings of the Five Hundred Arhats in the Zhusheng Temple on Hengshan Mountain in Nanyue. They were molded using the "de-molding" process and took two sculptors from Huangpi for 9 years.
