Where is Haidian compound?

Haidian Courtyard is the Royal Pavilion, and Xinhua News Agency calls it the Royal Pavilion Courtyard. It is the living office area of Xinhua Communication Company in the west of Beijing, located at No.3 Yangfangdian Road, Junbo District, Haidian District, Beijing.

Huangtingzi Courtyard was built in 1950s, with Jingxi Hotel in the north, the Air Force Courtyard across Ma Xiao Road in the west and Yangfangdian production team in the south. According to the old Xinhua people, there are no Jingxi Hotel and Junbo in the north and east of the dormitory area. Xinhua News Agency built a C-shaped building on this desolate loess slope, surrounded only by barbed wire, and the compound was relatively simple.

Characteristics of Haidian Courtyard

The courtyard is low in the east and high in the west. It is divided into front yard and backyard. More than a dozen Soviet-style buildings with four or five floors are surrounded by several independent courtyards, all of which are quadrangles. Curved and straight cement paths lead to various courtyards, connected with staggered steps and undulating terrain, which are seamless and natural and harmonious.

The appearance and color of the building are different, but it outlines a neat and elegant courtyard. Most of the houses are ordinary units with high roofs and complete living facilities. A few exquisite houses have bathtubs and toilets. In the 1950s and 1960s, the use of such facilities was rare and extravagant.
