Ningjin County, Shandong Province, Ningjin furniture industry began to develop in the 1990s. After more than ten years of development, it has already had a certain industrial scale. However, the factors such as small scale and low industrial level have become the bottleneck restricting the development of Ningjin furniture industry. In order to further improve the level of furniture industry and build Ningjin furniture brand, the county party committee and government put forward the goal of building Ningjin into the largest production base of dining tables and chairs in China. In September 2004, at the 10th Shanghai International Furniture Fair, Ningjin County was officially awarded the honorary title of "Hometown of Tables and Chairs in China" by China National Light Industry Federation and China Furniture Association. Since its naming, the furniture industry in Ningjin has undergone earth-shaking changes. There are more than 300 new enterprises (households) engaged in furniture production in the county, reaching more than 2,400 households. Seven specialized villages and towns and more than 100 specialized villages have emerged, with 45,000 people engaged in furniture production. The annual sales revenue of the whole furniture industry has exceeded 6 billion yuan, double that of 2004 before the naming. The sales share of dining tables and chairs in Ningjin accounts for more than 30% of the domestic sales market. On the basis of zero breakthrough, in 2006, the self-operated export exceeded $ 100000, and the products were sold to more than10 countries and regions.
