The former residence is rectangular in plane, long from north to south, slightly shorter from east to west, surrounded by the Golden River and surrounded by mountains on three sides, covering an area of about 70,000 square meters. Liu Mingchuan Memorial Hall covers an area of 56 mu, surrounded by mountains on three sides, with Dabanshan and Hongqi Reservoir in the east, Liu Mingchuan's former residence 1000 meters in the west and the Jinhe River originating in Dabanshan in front.

The memorial hall has three floors, facing south and built by the mountain. The first and second floors are half embedded in the mountain, forming a retreat. The whole building conforms to the characteristics of ecosystem and mountain, attracts mountains and rivers, echoes the surrounding environment, and achieves the artistic conception of architecture and landscape space.

The memorial hall takes the architectural elements of Jianghuai residential buildings as the main line, adopts the courtyard layout of four waters returning to the hall, and builds a platform by storing water in the center of the courtyard, highlighting the map modeling of Chinese mainland, Taiwan compatriots and Feixi. At the same time, centering on the memorial hall, it forms a spatial connection with Liu Mingchuan's former residence, Taiwan Province Province and Liu Mingchuan Cemetery, highlighting Liu Mingchuan's life track from birth to guarding the platform, building the platform and being buried in the buried hill after his death.
