Macau is located on the southeast coast of Chinese mainland, on the west bank of the Pearl River estuary, and is separated from Hong Kong and Guangzhou on the outer edge of the Pearl River Delta. Lingdingyang is adjacent to Hong Kong in the east and Wanzai Town, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province in the west, separated by a Haojiang waterway less than 1 km wide.
