(10)202 1 northbound: Aershan Grand Canyon.

The Aershan Grand Canyon is not far from Tianchi in the hump ridge, and it will arrive soon by scenic bus. The sky is gray, and snowflakes are floating from time to time. The tourists are just the two of us, and there are two scenic spots staff sweeping snow on the wooden plank road.

Aershan Grand Canyon, also known as Chaiheyuan Grand Canyon, is located in the virgin forest 20 kilometers southeast of Aershan Xing 'an Forest Farm, with a total length of 1 1 km, but it is only open to tourists for 3.5 km at present. The bottom width of the Grand Canyon is 30- 150m, the valley depth is 30- 130m, and the drop per kilometer is 20m. The main body of the Grand Canyon is the volcanic lava fault zone, which was formed by the water erosion of basalt rock flow erupted by Pleistocene volcano for thousands of years. In the canyon, there are rugged rocks, waterfalls, cloud transpiration and many wonders. Wild plant species are widely distributed on both sides of the canyon. The river flows down from the bottom of the canyon, with uneven width and rapidity, gentle interior and beautiful and magnificent overall landscape.

The entrance of Aershan Grand Canyon Scenic Area is located at the top of the mountain. Sightseeing bus pulls tourists directly to the top of the mountain. Tourists don't need to climb. They can walk all the way along the wooden ladder to the bottom of the canyon, then go upstream along a rugged path, and finally climb the stairs through another wooden ladder to reach the gate of another scenic spot. Sightseeing bus will wait for the tourists at the other gate.

Standing at the entrance of Aershan Grand Canyon really made my eyes shine, which exceeded my expectations. Except for the walking wooden plank road, the Grand Canyon has basically maintained its most primitive natural features. After the snow, there is a vast expanse of white everywhere, and the large and small black-gray volcanic rocks stand out against the white snow. The Grand Canyon here is unusual. At first glance, it subverts my imagination of the Grand Canyon. It is different from the traditional concept of canyon. It is a huge and shocking W-shaped ravine, which is about 1 1 km, rather than a rugged ravine on the cliffs. The Aershan Grand Canyon is actually a volcanic fault zone, which is formed by the accumulation of volcanic lava and the erosion and collapse of water flow for hundreds of millions of years. It is a very peculiar natural landscape, and people who see volcanic landforms for the first time will be deeply shocked.

Along the plank road, the two of us slowly descended to the bottom. Chai River meanders, clear and transparent. Tinkling springs roll at the bottom of the valley, or flow in the form of waterfalls, rushing all the way. The river gathers from the bottom of the canyon and becomes the source of Chaihe River, one of the three major water systems in Aershan National Forest Park. So Aershan Grand Canyon is also called Chaiheyuan Grand Canyon.

On both sides of the canyon, flowers flourish in spring and summer. It is said that it is very easy to see lovely stone rabbits in the Grand Canyon in spring and summer. Stone rabbits have black eyes, round ears and sharp claws, but they have no tail. The fur color of stone rabbits is very similar to that of volcanic rocks. If it is still, it is easy to think of it as a small stone. It's a pity that it's snowy in early winter, and the stone rabbit has to hibernate in a warm cave.

The two of us swam upstream along the Chaihe River, which was pleasing to the eye. The rocks on both sides of the canyon are inclined, and most of them are covered with snow. Occasionally, there are trees, bushes, patches of trees or grasslands dotted among them, and dark volcanic lava is piled up in disorder, as if it is possible to collapse at any time. The world is beautiful. In the face of this strange landscape of hundreds of millions of years, human life seems so short, and it is not a kind of luck to feel these natural landscapes personally.

In less than an hour, we arrived at the exit of another scenic spot and took the scenic bus to Dufu Lake.
