Gaidi, Touma, located in the Philippines, is a famous seaside resort city and one of the top diving resorts in the world. It has a very high-quality marine ecological environment and the natural environment needed for diving, so that you have a good holiday time. A diving paradise for young people

The first time I heard the name Duma Gaidi, I came across an article entitled "Three thousand dollars to play Duma Gaidi". Supposedly, the article with this title will not cause waves in my heart. It really reminds me of this place, because you can see whale sharks here.

Later, when I was planning my trip to 1 1 month, I realized that the 3000 yuan mentioned in that article was true. It can really become a diving paradise for young people.

Compared with the one-way fare of 8 1 0,000 in Maldives, Bali and other popular scenic spots during the eleventh period, the round-trip fare from Duma Gaidi is less than 4,000, which is considered as a clear stream in the hot and turbid times.

So at first I chose 165438+ 10/0/to go to Duma. A large part of the reason is cheap, the one-way air ticket is less than 2000 yuan, and the hotel 100 night, not to mention the popular attractions abroad. I'm afraid even domestic scenic spots don't have this benefit.

As long as the OW diving license costs no more than 2,000 yuan, and the nearby diving spots are rich and colorful, which is friendly to beginners, Duma Gaidi has become the first choice for many people to start diving.

However, until now, it is still a small tourist city, largely because many people are worried about language barriers and poor public security. Actually, I really don't have to worry. Personally, I think I'm a little more worried than America or Europe.

If you can't speak this language, don't worry. After reading this travel book, as long as you have high school English level, you can play Dumagadi.

Although their official language is "Filipino", during our trip for more than a week, all the people in that place were English, so there was no problem in communicating with the locals in English (plus gestures).

visa

The Philippines can't help our country with visas. Landing visa or electronic visas are not accepted, but visa holders from developed countries such as the United States and Japan are allowed to enter the country visa-free.

Indeed, this seemingly unfriendly visa policy is rare in Southeast Asian countries, and it also discourages many people who want to travel here.

But when the soldiers came, they blocked up the water and covered it up. Nothing can't be solved by a universal treasure. In addition, tourism is one of the pillar industries in this country, and it is difficult to stop the financiers from coming from China, so the process is naturally not so strict.

So, if you don't have a visa for the United States, Japan, Australia, Canada or Schengen, just search for "Philippine visa" on a treasure. You only need to provide basic materials such as passport and copy of ID card, and the application form can also be represented.

But the price is more than 200 yuan per person, which is very sweet. Visa processing time varies from five days to seven days, depending on whether it is urgent or not. I suggest that it should be handled no later than half a month before the trip, including the time for mailing back and forth.

Because the Philippines and China have territorial disputes in the South China Sea, they refused to issue visas to our passports (the new passport has a map containing the nine-dash line in the South China Sea).

Their visas were issued on the back of the submitted application form, which was regarded as a Philippine visa.

However, don't underestimate this page and don't lose it. When leaving the country, the border inspection in the Philippines still depends on it. If it doesn't happen, there will be trouble in the future. I don't think anyone in this tourist diving resort wants to come only once, do they?

Other preparatory work

As mentioned earlier, Filipino food is no stranger to China people. The only problem is that there are too few vegetables, so there is no need to bring a bunch of instant noodles and snacks.

We think the most useful and necessary things for this trip are sunscreen, seasickness medicine, diving goggles and jellyfish suit.

Needless to say, sunscreen, please buy SPF 100 decisively. It doesn't need much. We only used a small bottle of 30mL for eight days, and there was basically no tan on the painted area.

However, I must say that the hardest hit area of sunburn while snorkeling is on the back of the body, which is really unexpected.

For example, we thought we were doing a good job of sun protection, and as a result, our calves and stomachs were badly sunburned. After returning home, I felt itchy and my skin was bare for more than ten days. Who would have thought of putting sunscreen on there?

The lesson we have learned from our personal practice is that we can't live without sunscreen, let alone jellyfish suits.

No matter what kind of jellyfish suit it is, it doesn't matter whether it is alive or not, because its main function is not to prevent being stung by jellyfish (of course, it can also be used) but to protect against the sun.

Later, someone reminded me that diving with sunscreen would hurt corals. I'll pay attention next time. I also suggest that you try to wear a jellyfish suit instead of sunscreen when diving.

Except for the jellyfish suit, other diving equipment is not needed, because the diving shop will prepare it, and there is almost no charge for renting it. But I suggest at least wearing glasses and breathing tubes, especially for people with myopia.

Shops don't prepare face mirrors with degrees, but some babies have such face mirrors and breathing tube suits. /kloc-you can choose within 0/00 yuan, which is really affordable.

In addition, after all, snorkeling doesn't have to find a diving shop. At this time, it is particularly important to bring your own breathing tube and face mirror.

As for the fins in the "three treasures of snorkeling", this is a matter of opinion. Personally, I think it is unnecessary. First of all, it is not a necessity for snorkeling, or even less useful than a life jacket.

Secondly, such a big dispensable thing takes up a lot of expensive luggage weight, which I don't think is worth it. However, the anti-fog liquid of diving goggles is still worth taking.

Several times solo snorkeling has encountered the problem of fog in the mirror, which greatly affected the diving experience. I hope that the latecomers can take a warning.

When diving, you need a mask to cover your nose and a breathing tube. Ordinary swimming glasses are not acceptable.

Another medicine I think is very useful is seasickness medicine. People who are usually seasick must remember to bring them.

These things always * * don't take up too much space. Fill the rest of the suitcase with all kinds of beautiful clothes, and then get ready to embark on your pleasant journey!

The two largest diving shops in Duma are Harold Diving Center and Scuba Adventure.

If you want to take a diving license, it is suggested that you must send an email to the diving shop in advance to confirm whether their courses are full. When I went to165438+1October 1 1, I heard from the boss of scuba venture capital that the guests who booked the diving course had been scheduled for the Spring Festival next year (of course, you can't believe all this). So for the sake of safety, please make a reservation first.

Booking template:

Hi,

I'd like to reserve a PADI diving course for two people, from1October 4th to 6th. We want to choose the open water course.

Is there a discount? We would appreciate it.

Please let me know if you need anything else. Thank you very much.

Harold OW course (open water, scuba diving introductory course) per person 16000 p, without discount;

The price of Scuventure is the same, but if two people sign up together, the price of each person is 14000P.

This price is less than 2000 yuan, which almost kills the price of other diving resorts, and may even be cheaper than going to Thailand to learn diving.

Both stores provide Chinese teaching materials and teaching videos. I believe there should be no big difference in teaching quality. Actually, you can choose both.

I chose the cheap one, but Harold is riskier than Kuba, so this is still a matter of opinion.

If snorkeling or deep diving doesn't need to be booked online, just go to the store the day before and sign up.

The two stores are next to each other, and upstairs is the Harrods Hotel. It is not recommended to stay here because the environment is not very good.

The diving instructor told us that he had taught students who didn't speak English at all before, so he really didn't have to worry that his English was not up to standard, and he didn't dare to sign up for diving classes run by local people. Most of the time, he can only use Chinese, not to mention gesturing underwater.

Our teacher, a Filipino brother, can speak such common words as "mask", "respirator" and "flippers" in Chinese, and he is also tirelessly learning more Chinese. For example, this time he learned to say "neutral buoyancy" from us.

Compared with domestic courses, local diving courses have obvious price advantages, but domestic diving shops may teach more attentively and learn more easily.

Hotel accommodation

Friends who come here to travel must have a clear understanding: Duma Gaidi is not a pure tourist city, but a transit station. The real attractions are the islands and diving spots about an hour or two away from the city.

So don't be surprised by the chaos here, let alone expect to live in a sea view room. If you want to enjoy the sunshine and the beach, going to Long Beach is a better choice. The Duma has many fascinating underwater scenery, but there is no beach at all.

Hotels in Duma are not expensive. Relatively better is the Hotel Essencia opened by China people, which costs about 200 yuan in the afternoon 1 1. It's a bit like a domestic business hotel, and you can pick up the plane, so the price is quite cost-effective.

Our hotel is called Palva Hotel, which is not too new, but clean enough. The price-performance ratio of less than 200 per night is not worth mentioning.

Of course, some people complain that their house faces the street and the air conditioner is very noisy. I really didn't feel any noise after staying here for a few days, but if this aspect is sensitive, I suggest considering other hotels.

Both hotels are located in the city center, so it is convenient to go anywhere. A few steps away is a large shopping mall (Lee Square), as well as McDonald's, Chaoqun and other fast food restaurants.

Essencia Hotel, I have never stayed, but it is undoubtedly the best hotel in Doumagdi.

There is also a hotel chain called Go Hotel, which is next to it. It takes more than ten minutes to get to the hotel or dive shop by bus, but there is a big shopping mall called Robinson next to it, which is not bad. There is also a hotel called Housereef Inn, which is also very good. I would like to recommend it.

This hotel is the owner of Scuba Venture, where we learn to dive. The rooms are small but clean, with swimming pool and shower, which is worthy of priority for all students who want to learn diving in Duma.

And there is a city mall outside their home, not far from the hotel, and the location is better than the Go hotel.

To the hotel.

Traffic guide

There are two docks in Duma: one is near the city center, and you can go to Sikkim Hall and tagbilaran by boat;

The other is the West Brown Pier just north of the city. You can go to Santander and Oslob on Cebu Island by boat.

If you want to go to Sumilong, take a boat from Oslob to see whale sharks. Point: To see whale sharks, please take a boat at West Brown Pier in the north of the city.

Schedule of going back and forth to Oslob at Bran Wharf.

The best boat from Duma Gaidi to Sikkim Hall is Ocean Jet Company, which not only drives fast, but also sits comfortably. But there are fewer flights every day, so it is necessary to plan the time in advance.

Some ferries are even more embarrassed. They have to wander for an hour and a half, and the refrigeration depends entirely on natural wind.

Local food recommendation

As the saying goes, "Food is the most important thing for the people", and China people's enthusiasm for eating is the highest in the world. It is a great happiness to eat delicious food when going out (I think when my mother and I drove in, she asked to eat rice every day, so we put a small rice cooker in the car).

There are two high-end restaurants in the local area, one is the famous "Lab-as" mentioned by many people before, and the other is "Lantaw".

Laboratory component

The two shops are next to each other, only ten minutes away from the city center. 20 pesos is enough to take a bus in Tu Tu.

High-grade means that for the local people, even the seafood for both of us is less than 200 RMB. The price of the same thing in Beijing and Shanghai is too high to even think about, and it is not very affordable at all.

This is also one of the benefits of traveling to the Philippines: even ordinary people can enjoy the life of the local rich.

"Lab-as" says that a store is actually connected by three stores. All three stores have their own storefronts and waiters, but they use menus, so it really makes no difference which one to sit in.

We came here on our first day in the Philippines, but we were disappointed. Even without crabs, even if the food is slow, I really can't stand it. I ordered a fried noodles and waited until we finished eating.

That's not all. The fried noodles that were not on the final bill were not crossed out, and the drinks were actually paid in two installments. Looks like we're really going to charge IQ tax? When I went to talk to the waiter, the big brother smiled shyly at me and then turned away, which made me dumbfounded.

In contrast, I personally think that "Lan Tao" is much better. We have been to this store three times in the past four days, which is recognized. Although it is a bit slow to serve when there are many guests at night, at least there are no moths.

And I think the taste of this shop is better than that of Lab-as.

Here, I would like to recommend their cancer with garlic and butter flavor. The first two trips were sold out, and it was not until the last day before boarding the plane that I ate the crab I had been longing for for for a week.

At that time, the waiter told me that there were only small crabs, so we thought we would make it small. The result is not small at all.

Both crabs are at least 20 cm wide. It seems that the concept of "small crab" in the Philippines is still very different from ours.

In addition, their pork Sisig (iron plate minced meat) is also delicious. Roast chicken is a specialty of the Philippines and is highly recommended.

Lan Tao

When you are not at home, you can't help eating some fast food. Fast food in the Philippines is monotonous, but it's okay to eat two meals occasionally. There are basically three chain fast food restaurants I saw there: McDonald's, Jalibee, a native American fast food in the Philippines, and Chaoqun Chinese fast food.

I think McDonald's is the best of the three. After all, the familiar smell is said to be eaten by local rich people. Jalibee also basically sells fried chicken, which is worse than McDonald's;

Chaoqun mainly sells fried noodles, steamed buns, wonton and other Chinese food. The taste is certainly not as good as that in China, but if you miss the taste of your hometown, you can eat it after dinner.

As for other local restaurants, it's really a mixed bag. Two roast chickens are very good, and I really regret having tasted the rest once.

There are also many outdoor barbecues at night in the local area, but since I saw the big sister of a barbecue stall washing dishes in the rain, I have no desire to try, and I don't recommend it to everyone.
