Originated from the folk activities of Hongdong ancestors to commemorate Fu, the ancestor of mankind.

Fu, a native of Guadi Village, Hongdong, promoted the performance of "innate gossip" containing the mystery of heaven and earth, and the number "eight" became the object of reverence for Chinese descendants. In order to express their admiration for Fu, the local people adopted eight dishes at the wedding banquet, and named the dishes four bowls, four dishes, four dry dishes, four vegetarian dishes, four rare dishes and four fermented dishes.
