The Shanghai Flower Arrangement and Floral Art Association was established in 1987. It currently has more than 5,000 individual members and more than 50 corporate members. It is the association with the largest number of members in the Chinese flower art circle. The association is a mass professional organization with legal person status that has been registered and approved by government departments. The association has 1 senior Chinese flower arranging master (4 in the country), 6 Chinese flower arranging masters (9 in the country), and thousands of flower arranging technicians and various flower arranging talents. They have served China and other countries in various exhibitions and competitions at home and abroad. Shanghai has won many honors and medals, forming a Shanghai-specific flower arrangement art style. The association has compiled and published 14 books and periodicals, including "Chinese Flower Arrangement Art", "Chinese Flower Arrangement·Japanese Ikebana", "Chinese and Foreign Modern Floral Art", "Family Flower Arrangement", "Artificial Dried Flowers", "Flower Arranger" and "Junior Flower Arranger Illustrated". Since 1996, the association and relevant units have jointly organized the "Charm of Flowers" Shanghai International Flower Arrangement Art Exhibition every two years, which is a brand exhibition in the Chinese flower arrangement industry. Flower arrangement groups and flower arrangement artists from all over the world, as well as from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and other provinces and cities in China, participate in exhibitions, performances and exchanges. The association holds the "Shanghai Cup" or "Shanghua Cup" flower arrangement competition every year, attracting Shanghai residents, professional flower arrangers and amateur flower arrangers from abroad, abroad and domestically in Shanghai. It is one of the authoritative competitions in the industry. The Shanghai Flower Arrangement and Floral Art Training School affiliated to the association was rated as an A-level unit run by social forces. It is the 044th Vocational Skills Appraisal Institute of the Shanghai Vocational Skills Appraisal Center that undertakes government-subsidized vocational training for flower arrangers. The school also invites domestic and foreign flower arrangement experts to Shanghai to teach Japanese ikebana, Western flower arrangement, Eastern and Western floral design, commercial flower arrangement and other courses. It is the leader of Shanghai's vocational training floral art teaching and research team. The association has extensive exchanges with overseas flower arrangement circles.
