Does artificial stone contain harmful substances?

Artificial stone has the advantages of non-toxic, impervious, easy to cut, freely adjustable in color, freely cast in shape, spliced into various shapes and patterns, integrally cast with the sink, and spliced without leaving traces. Except that the hardness of natural marble is higher than that of artificial stone, it can't be compared with artificial stone in other aspects. Some natural marble also contains radioactive substances, which are harmful to human body.

Artificial stone: Artificial stone is made of unnatural mixture, such as resin, cement and gravel binder.

Artificial stone is the floorboard of artificial marble and artificial agate. It is made by mixing unsaturated polyester resin with filler and pigment, adding a small amount of initiator, and through a certain processing procedure. In the production process, products with bright colors and luster similar to natural marble and jade can be made by using different pigments.

Artificial stone products are simple to make, short in production cycle and low in cost, and are widely used in various indoor and outdoor architectural decoration. Artificial stone appeared in America 30 years ago. In China, artificial stone products were first used as decorative materials in some developed coastal cities in the mid-1990s, and became widely popular a few years later. Now this craze is spreading to small and medium-sized cities in the mainland.

This product has the following characteristics:

1. appearance-smooth surface, no defects such as pores and pits, beautiful color, and the surface of the substrate should have a sense of particle suspension and certain transparency.

2. Physical and chemical properties-sufficient strength, rigidity and hardness, especially impact resistance and scratch resistance.

3. Durability-weather resistance, dimensional stability, deformation resistance and sudden cooling and heating resistance.

What is the main difference between artificial stone and natural marble?

Artificial stone has the advantages of non-toxic, impervious, easy to cut, freely adjustable in color, freely cast in shape, spliced into various shapes and patterns, integrally cast with the sink, and spliced without leaving traces. Except that the hardness of natural marble is higher than that of artificial stone, it can't be compared with artificial stone in other aspects. Some natural marble also contains radioactive substances, which are harmful to human body.

What are the main uses of artificial stone products?

Artificial stone can not only be used as top-grade cooktops, windowsills, bathtubs, basins, building columns and senior leisure tables, but also be cast into various sculpture decorations. I believe there will be more uses in the future.

Why does the burnt artificial stone become warped and cracked after a few months?

It is mainly caused by uneven mixing of waste resin with filler, pigment, accelerator and initiator with resin. In the artificial stone matrix, that is, in the mixture of resin, filler and pigment, the resin should be able to keep the filler in uniform suspension until the resin gel. If the filler is poorly suspended in the artificial stone matrix and deposited at the bottom of the casting, the distribution of filler in the upper and lower parts of the casting will be different. Because there is more resin in the upper layer, more heat is released during curing and the shrinkage is large; There is less resin in the lower layer, less heat release and less shrinkage during curing, which leads to warping or cracking of products.

What are the causes of bubbles and pits on the surface of artificial stone? How to rule it out?

There are three main reasons:

1. The moisture content of the filler exceeds the normal index. When the moisture content of filler particles is high, tiny bubbles will be formed around them. Because resin curing is an exothermic process, the heat released by resin will destroy the balance of bubbles outside the particles, leaving bubbles in the artificial stone matrix, and bubbles and pits will appear on the surface after curing.

2. During the mixing process, air is brought into the artificial stone matrix.

3. The ratio of resin to curing agent and initiator is improper, and the bubbles remaining in the matrix cannot be discharged in time.

There are usually three methods of exclusion:

1. Vibration defoaming method. When using this method, we should pay attention to the amplitude, frequency and vibration time of the platform. If the amplitude is too large, the filler will be deposited on the surface of the template, resulting in poor resin, slow curing, small shrinkage and low exothermic temperature. On the other hand, because of its rich resin, it solidifies into a block, which is slow in shrinkage, high in exothermic temperature and easy to warp.

2. Chemical defoaming method. The polymerization inhibitor (commonly known as defoamer) that can block the cross-linking and curing of resin can prevent the resin from polymerizing for a certain period of time, and after a period of time, the resin can polymerize at a normal speed, thus winning time for the effective discharge of bubbles. The use of this method has little effect on the heat release caused by resin curing. If the amount of initiator and accelerator is reduced, the polymerization of resin can be delayed, but the quality of artificial stone will be affected by the deformation of resin temperature rise curve.

3. Stir and vacuum. The artificial stone basically keeps boiling by using the negative pressure of stirring, which is beneficial to the chemical reaction and the easy elimination of bubbles generated during stirring.

The above three methods, especially the combination of the first and third methods, are practical and reliable, and have the effect of one-time investment and long-term use. The second method is simple, but it is too expensive for mass production.

What are the requirements for the resin used for artificial stone?

The chemical structure and curing properties of resin should be considered when selecting resin.

The chemical structure of 1. resin is generally isophthalic acid-propylene glycol resin. It can meet the requirements of CMI (American Artificial Marble Association) for 500 thermal shock cycles. Boiled with distilled water for 48 hours, the color is basically unchanged, and it has good anti-white flowers and anti-foaming, but the price is relatively expensive. Ordinary resin cannot be used in the manufacture of artificial stone.

2. Curing performance of resin: It is required that the resin should have moderately low shrinkage and high green strength at the initial stage of curing.

What methods can improve the hardness and luster of artificial stone surface?

In order to make artificial stone products have perfect appearance, post-curing treatment is very important. The so-called post-curing treatment is to keep artificial stone products at a certain temperature for several hours. Generally speaking, the strength of polyester resin after curing and demoulding is only about 50% of the maximum strength, and it takes weeks or even months to completely cure, and the final curing can greatly increase the strength and water resistance of artificial stone products. Post-curing treatment can overcome the defects such as deformation and cracking, improve the surface water resistance and thermal shock resistance, and increase the strength of matrix resin, which is beneficial to improve the hardness and luster of products and prolong the service life.

What is the minimum investment for producing artificial stone products?

High-performance, omni-directional mixer and large-capacity granulator are essential. In addition, it can be equipped with multiple vibration platforms, hand tools, simple guide saws, vacuum pumps and drying rooms to produce colorful artificial stone products. The minimum investment of equipment required for small and medium-sized production is about 35,000 yuan. If a high degree of mechanization, large production scale and complete varieties are required, the equipment investment is about 654.38+10,000 yuan.
