What is Yan 'an?

Yan 'an, known as pumice and Yanzhou in ancient times, is an important birthplace of the Chinese nation. The ancestor of mankind, the Yellow Emperor, once lived here. It is the first mausoleum in the world-the ancestor of the Chinese nation, Huangdi Mausoleum: the national holy land, the revolutionary holy land of China, and the location of Huangdi Mausoleum, one of the first national historical and cultural cities in the State Council.

There are 5,808 historical sites, 445 revolutionary memorial sites and nearly 70,000 cultural relics in Yan 'an. There are 848 historical relics protection sites, 8 well-preserved caves in Song Dynasty, 4 cave temples, 0/2 pagodas and other ancient buildings built in Tang Dynasty, and more than 40 revolutionary residences.

Yan 'an is an excellent tourist city in China, with the first ancient tomb in China-Xuanyuan Huangdi Mausoleum (5A), Baota shan Scenic Area (5A) and Zichang Zhongshan Grottoes, a national key cultural relics protection unit. In terms of natural landscape, there are four years of Yan 'an Hukou Waterfall on the Yellow River, the largest wild peony group in China, Mulan's hometown Wanhua, Yellow River Shequ National Geopark (Gankun Bay), Yan 'an National Forest Park and Luochuan Loess National Geopark.
