Why did Tibet set off a toilet construction and rectification movement?

It is reported that at the beginning of 20 17, the Xizang Autonomous Region municipal government clearly stated in its work report that it would vigorously carry out the "toilet revolution" and complete the construction and renovation of 2,000 toilets in the whole region, so as to improve the production and living conditions of urban and rural people, promote people's health, improve people's quality of life and promote the development of tourism.

According to the report, at present, four new public toilets that are integrated with the overall style of Bugong have all been put into use. The exterior is designed with Tibetan dwellings, and the interior is mostly made of wood, with a touch of Tibetan incense. After entering Bugong, two Tibetan aqua privies with one end and one end became "historic sites" for tourists to visit.

Tourism has always been a pillar industry of Tibet's economic development. Throughout Tibet, the work around the "toilet revolution" is progressing in an orderly manner. 2,000 toilets will be built in tourist attractions, along the main expressway and in public places where tourists and locals are densely distributed. Newly rebuilt public toilets are built according to the standards of A, 2A and 3A, and the management mode of free use of toilets is implemented in principle.

At present, the preliminary work such as planning, site selection, layout, appearance design and technical standard formulation of new and rebuilt toilets has been basically completed. The first "toilet revolution" pilot toilet in the whole region is located in Dagu Scenic Area, Shannan City. It started operation in early May, and adopted the technology of flushing toilets without water. At present, the equipment is running normally and the tourists have responded well. The toilet pilot projects in Namco and Yangzhuoyong scenic spots will also be put into operation in the near future.
