Meditation-Opening a new world by accident

A few days ago, I attended a meditation camp in Jizushan, Dali, Yunnan. It lasted nearly ten days and was one of the unforgettable experiences in my life.

A person needs an opportunity to do something. This is what meditation means to me. A few months ago, I did not know what meditation was. One day in the audio class, I heard a teacher talk about meditation. He listed many famous meditation lovers, including Musk (the prototype of Iron Man). At that time, I was surprised. A rocket man is meditating. What happened? Well, I should know. Then I bought Zongsa Rinpoche's book The World is a Theater, which was recommended by the teacher. Buddhism is wonderful, and some people talk about meditation, but I just wanted to know about it at that time. Just at this time, a friend asked me if I wanted to go to the meditation summer camp together, and I immediately promised to experience it. After registering online, receiving the admission notice and confirming the itinerary, I really went. Now that I think about it, something is pulling me.

The temple where we attend meditation is located at the foot of Jizu Mountain. It is a large-scale women's Buddhist college. At the time of reporting, a number of items such as camp uniforms, badges, classics and notebooks were uniformly distributed. There are about sixty campers. The specific daily schedule is shown in the figure.

On the first night of meditation, my mobile phone was confiscated, and I really entered the temple life without TV and Internet. At first, everyone didn't adapt. It was really hard. Get up before five o'clock every day, boil your own water and keep the water off. The bed you sleep in is also hard, and you are usually asked not to talk except when you are resting. I also have to help the temple kitchen wash dishes and patrol the hall. Busy all day, washing clothes can only take up my lunch break. The temperature in the mountains was low and it rained heavily for several days. Many people fell ill at once, with diarrhea and fever. Later, because I had a class with the wizards in the morning, I got up at four o'clock and didn't sleep well at night. I live by sheer willpower. I don't think I can take it anymore (covering my face).

Having said that, let's talk about happiness. As a stranger to temple life and meditation, my first meditation experience was perfect.

Meditation is always in the evening. We meditate in the Hall of Ursa Major. When I first entered the hall, I was shocked by the whole environment. The top is tens of meters high and magnificent. Three giant golden buddhas stared at us from a height. The table is full of lilies, and the whole temple is full of flowers. The floor and the meditation mat are all dark, and the mat is embroidered with lotus flowers, and one flower is placed at intervals. The silk tube is hung on the top of the head with flags, and it shines when the lights are bright. I sat beside the altar in front of the pharmacist Buddha. Looking up, you can see the solemn Buddha statue, the top of Jin Shanshan Hall and the giant lotus lantern. The mage who took us to meditate was a very young monk, who was poor from the moment he entered the temple, which formed a strange contrast with the environment of the whole hall. He taught us to cross our legs and pay attention to breathing. And he has been answering our questions, laughing and laughing. Super quick response, confident and sophisticated, full of personal charm. Completely subverted our imagination of becoming a monk. At the end of the last half hour, he asked everyone to put their legs together and enter a state of meditation. All the lights in the hall were turned off, only a few candles were lit, and the candlelight flashed, and dozens of people didn't make any noise. The mage took off his shoes and walked around gently to see if everyone's posture was correct. I feel all this quietly, just like in a dream, which is really wonderful (I didn't take any photos because I didn't have a mobile phone).

What impressed me was the lantern walking ceremony and hiking. This is the schedule for the last two days. By that time, I had almost finished my research and returned my mobile phone. On the night of lighting, the weather was fine. After reading the scriptures with the wizards in the main hall, the lights were lit at the entrance of the main hall. Lotus is very beautiful in shape. Everyone was crazy about taking pictures, and the wizards were dragged to take pictures together, which touched a happy night.

The next morning, on the last day of meditation, I climbed up the mountain, from the foot of the mountain to the top of Jinding. This is also a kind of practice. Watching the cable car go back and forth over our heads, we can only go up step by step. On the way, it rained heavily and my shoes were all wet, so I put on my raincoat and continued to climb the mountain. By the way, there are several important scenic spots on Jizu Mountain that must be visited. One is Zhu Sheng Temple, which was built in Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty, and is a highly respected Dojo in Ye Jia. Located halfway up the mountain, it was later expanded by the old monk Xu Yun and practiced here. There are many pictures in it. This is a large temple group.

There is also the Huashoumen near Jinding, which is very steep. Besides, it was rainy and foggy on the day we went, so it was always foggy. According to legend, this is the place where Ye Jia, a respected man, kept his clothes and settled down. There is a cave on the precipice, which looks like a door, so it is called "the first door in China". As for Jinding Temple, I think a trip is enough. Because of the high altitude, the temperature on the Jinding is very low, more or less, so I didn't stay too long and took the cable car down the mountain.

The wizards who come to give us lectures are also surprising. Because Buddhist disciples must constantly improve, the wizards who succeeded in the later period are actually intellectuals. Understand Buddhism, understand the world, and have strong speculative ability. The lecture was very exciting and benefited a lot.

Every morning and evening in class, I am chanting scriptures, namely Hokkekyo and Diamond Sutra. It only takes more than ten minutes for wizards to recite the Diamond Sutra, but it takes us more than half an hour. Some words are still mispronounced. I want to talk about my feelings about this chanting. I used to hear someone say chanting Buddha, and my heart was always hehe. Because most people don't know its meaning, what is the meaning of chanting Buddha? Until this time, the mage asked everyone to recite the Heart Sutra within one day. This is the first time I have read it. I can't read it and I don't understand it. I can only remember it alive. Strangely, this meditation has been rewarded again and again, and some words are more and more appreciated by readers, which really makes people calm. I have been meditating on the Heart Sutra for the next few days, and there is a faint feeling of joy that I have forgotten my legs. For the record, I'm not saying that Buddhist scriptures can be read forever without knowing its meaning. Of course, it is necessary to go deep into the teachings to confirm Buddhism. In practice, we can't just rely on self-speculation and induction, otherwise it will become blind practice. I'll add that after singing, I'll copy the classics. When I used to see my concubines in the palace, the queen often asked her concubines to copy the scriptures. I don't understand, and I think the women in the palace are really too idle. I see.

By the way, the diet in the temple. Say the conclusion first-delicious. Eating in the temple is very punctual, and you should recite the scriptures before and after meals. Then there will be campers patrolling the hall to add food and rice. They can't talk, they just gesture. They can't make any noise when eating, and they can't leave vegetables and rice. After eating, they should put the bowl in the designated position. The food is delicious. Some dishes look like meat. I don't know what they are made of. They are full of color, smell and taste. After staying in the temple for so many days, I don't want to eat meat at all. It's just that the porridge and steamed bread for breakfast every day make me very tired. It's perfect to have a face.

This meditation made me gain a lot and opened my eyes. I used to understand Buddhism only from a philosophical point of view. In fact, Buddhism pays attention to introspection and advocates a whole set of lifestyles, which needs to be immersed wholeheartedly to understand. I will insist on meditation and chanting, because it can help me to converge my mind and reflect on myself. Pull yourself out and observe things from the perspective of objects. In short, this meditation has taught me to look at the world from a new perspective.

Thank you very much.
