First, the box-type substation is mainly cooled by natural wind circulation. Therefore, it is not allowed to illegally pile things around it, especially the transformer room door should not be blocked, and the attachments on the louver ventilation holes should be removed frequently to ensure that all electrical equipment does not exceed the maximum allowable temperature.

Second, the floor of the box-type substation should be placed in a higher place, not in a lower place, so as to avoid rainwater pouring into the box and affecting the operation of the equipment.

Thirdly, zinc oxide arrester should be installed in the high voltage distribution room of box transformer, and the installation method must be convenient for test, disassembly and replacement.

Four, the door of the box-type substation should be opened outward, with handles, hidden bolts and locks, and the hidden bolts and locks should be rustproof.

Fifth, the noise level of box-type substation should not be greater than the specified transformer noise level. Whether the box shell is metal or nonmetal, the metal frame of the box body should be well grounded, with grounding terminals and marked with grounding symbols.

Six, the transformer room should be mainly natural ventilation, and the relationship curve between the temperature in the box and the output of the transformer is given. Room temperature monitoring devices and self-starting ventilation and cooling devices can be installed in the transformer room as required to ensure that the transformer runs at full load under specified environmental conditions. The transformer shall be able to enter and exit from the top or side door of the box.

Seventh, the grounding grid is used for the grounding and neutral lines of box-type substation. Generally, grounding piles are driven into the four corners of the foundation and then connected into a whole. There must be two reliable connections between the box-type substation and the grounding grid.
