What are the requirements for the golf referee exam? How to apply for the referee?

The referees of China High School Association are divided into four grades, namely, primary, intermediate, national and international. Among them, according to the results of theoretical and practical examinations, the national level is subdivided into national A, B and C levels. Students who scored above 75 points in the theoretical examination and passed the practical examination won the national A-level certificate; Students who scored above 75 points in the theoretical examination but failed to pass the practical examination won the national B-level; Students whose theoretical scores are between 6 and 74 don't take the practical examination, but they get the national C-level certificate.

According to the content learned and the requirements for passing, junior referees should be able to serve as observers or referees without final judgment in lower-level amateur competitions. Intermediate referees can serve as referees with the final ruling power in lower-level amateur competitions and as observers in higher-level amateur or professional competitions. National referees can act as referees in lower-level amateur competitions, and serve as referees with final adjudication power in higher-level amateur or professional competitions. International referees can be competent as referees or referees of international competitions.

1. Primary training

The main contents of primary training are all the definitions in golf etiquette and rules, as well as the commonly used rules in the Quick Learning Guide of Rules. Although there will be practical explanations in the process of primary training, only the theory is set in the exam, and there is no practical part. The theoretical examination includes 3 multiple-choice questions and 4 hole analysis questions, including 1% English questions. Students are required to complete all the questions within one hour, and the passing score is 7 points. Because the primary training is mainly for students to have a general concept of rules of golf and master some basic definitions, I personally feel it is less difficult. Judging from the results of exams in previous years, the passing rate has been high.

2. Intermediate training

The content of intermediate training involves all rules of golf. Like the primary training, the intermediate examination is only theoretical, and there is no practical assessment. The intermediate theoretical examination is divided into two parts: closed book and open book, among which there are 25 English questions. Students are required to complete all the test questions within two and a half hours, and the passing score is 7 points. Compared with primary training, the difficulty of intermediate examination is obviously increased. Students must be quite familiar with the rules and precedents before they can successfully pass the intermediate examination.

the closed volume part is divided into three parts: a, b and C ..

Part A consists of 2 small questions, which require students to skillfully write down the corresponding rule numbers according to the requirements of the questions.

for example, a player played a provisional ball. The answer should be 27-2.

Part B contains 3 questions about judging right or wrong.

For example, the ground covered with grass in a bunker is a part of the bunker. The answer should be "correct".

Part C is 1 multiple-choice questions.

For example, in a match, there is a bunker between the player's ball and the hole. Before playing, the player leveled the footprints on his playing line in the bunker. How to punish?

A. Not punished

B. Penalty 1 stroke

C. He lost

in this hole. I believe readers who are familiar with the rules will choose C immediately.

the uncoiling part is divided into two small parts: d and e. Part d is 1 multiple-choice questions that require the case number to be pointed out.

For example, in the stroke play, a player touched his push line while sweeping away scattered obstacles with a towel. How to judge?

a. No need to be punished.

B. The competitor was fined one stroke.

C. this is a penalty of 2 strokes.

The answer to this question is A. At the same time, the examinee must also answer the corresponding case number, which is 16-1a/8.

Part E is the rule analysis problem of six holes, which is the most difficult part in the whole theoretical examination. In this part, it is assumed that two players, John and David, are competitors in the same group in stroke play, and the candidates are appointed by the Committee as John's scorekeeper and follow this group of players to complete the six-hole competition. John will encounter some rules in every hole. After the situation occurs, the examinee must give the rule number or case number according to the specified requirements, and point out the corresponding penalty number.

for example: hole 1, par 4 of 37 yards

1.

John's tee shot landed in the middle of the fairway. However, when he walked to the ball, he found that his ball was caught in his own ball mark in the short grass area. John picked up the ball, wiped it and threw it as close as possible to the original stop, but not closer to the hole.

2. John's second shot was slightly to the right, and ended up in the bunker next to the green. Before getting ready to hit the ball, John took a can next to his ball in the bunker.

3.

Unfortunately, he didn't play this shot well. The ball hit the wall of the bunker and then bounced back to the bunker, and it stopped against John's foot. John moved his foot, but the ball rolled into his footprints in the bunker. John put the ball back where it stopped on his own foot.

4. John saved the ball beautifully, and the ball stopped only 2 feet next to the hole. He pushed the ball into the hole with a putter.

3. National training

National training also involves all rules of golf, and its theoretical examination form is the same as that of the intermediate level, but the number of questions in English is increased to 65%. At the same time, the training has increased the contents of competition organization and management, such as the formulation of competition conditions and local rules, the calibration and setting of the stadium, etc.

In addition to theoretical exams, there are also practical exams at the national level. Only those students with a theoretical score of 75 are eligible to take the practical examination. In the practical examination, each candidate needs to simulate the referee to deal with three rule questions on the spot, and the score of each rule question is 5 points. The examiner will grade the candidates from three aspects: style, clarity and accuracy. Of course, the most important thing is accuracy. Students can only pass the practice exam if they get 11 points.

realistically speaking, the most difficult thing in national training is the practice exam. Because most students don't have much on-the-spot law enforcement experience before, it is easy to feel nervous when facing the examiner and thus affect the on-the-spot performance. Therefore, a considerable number of students "fold" in the national examination every year in the practice examination. For this result, I think the best way is for students to spend more time creating and simulating some law enforcement environments to experience, or to find opportunities to watch large-scale competitions and learn from experienced old referees.

4. International training

International training requires participation in R&D; The R&A, a school for event management and senior referee training; A Tournament Administrators and Referees School)。 R& A This training is held once a year in St Andrews and once every two years in Asia. The training content is mainly the advanced knowledge of competition management and organization, such as competition conditions, stadium setting, handling of temporary immovable obstacles, controlling the speed of playing, etc., in addition to discussing some difficult penalties. The form of theoretical examination is similar to that of intermediate and national level.

Every year, the China High School Association will send two people to participate in the competition management and senior referee training school held in St. Andrews. Those with an assessment score of 8 or above will be awarded the title of international referee.
