What's the tax rate for takeout in hotels?
The tax rate of take-away food sold by general taxpayers in hotels is 6%. In order to unify the caliber of collection and management, and ensure the consistency of tax treatment of "in-store food" and "take-away food", People's Republic of China (PRC) State Taxation Administration of The People's Republic of China Announcement No.2019 No.31clarifies that taxpayers who make food on the spot and sell it directly to consumers shall pay VAT at 6% of "catering service".
