Blue hole
Located in the northeast corner of Saipan, it is the most famous and difficult diving spot in Saipan. Divers can often be seen practicing launching here. Grottoes are one of the world-famous diving caves. The deepest is a submarine cave of more than 40 meters, located in the northeast corner of Saipan. There is a diving sanctuary.
The Blue Cave is a natural cave connected with the Pacific Ocean. Its geology is limestone formed by coral reefs. The most amazing thing about the blue hole is that limestone has been eroded and collapsed by seawater for a long time, forming a deep hole. Seawater passes through three waterways at the bottom of the cave, filling the deep hole with dark blue seawater, and the waterways can lead to the open sea, so the blue cave pool can reveal a light blue luster. This is the origin of the famous blue hole. Blue Cave was named the second diving spot in the world by Diver magazine. You who love diving can get great enjoyment here.
Outside the blue cave looks like a dolphin with its mouth open, and inside it is a huge stalactite cave, which is a natural cave formed by seawater erosion. Down the cliff 103 steps, divers will come to a huge underground cave, whose spherical top wall can even accommodate a church. If you go diving at 5 am, you will inevitably meet all kinds of turtles, sharks and tuna. The crystal clear water has attracted many divers to linger. Because the shadow projection of rocks attracts more underwater creatures, all kinds of colorful tropical fish, turtles, devil fish, dolphins, jellyfish and sea urchins ... the underwater world is more exciting than the land!
Bird Islet
Located in the north of Saipan, it is made of limestone and named after many kinds of birds. Bird Island According to local people, this island is also called lover island. Every evening, couples come here to watch seabirds return to their nests. Unfortunately, the gunfire of World War II drove these peace-loving birds out of their homes and emigrated to other places, leaving only this beautiful coral island. Looking at Bird Island and the sea, I really get distracted and don't want to leave for a long time.
Although the island is small, it provides sufficient living space for birds. There are hundreds of species of birds living on the island. At high tide, Bird Island is like an island at sea. At low tide, it is connected with this island, and the whole island is under the sunshine. Passengers can come here to watch birds at low tide and watch the lovely appearance of seabirds up close. There is also a bird-watching telescope on the island, which can be used for 2 minutes for $0.50. Through the telescope, you can see the birds on the island are happy and comfortable. Bird Island, like isolated green jade, is a "must-visit place" for every tourist.
Final command of Japanese army
The last command post of the Japanese army is located at the northern end of Saipan, also known as Barnadillo, which is the location of Nan Yun, the senior commander of the Japanese army. Clever concealment, solid materials, and finally a fortress broken by the US military. There are two big holes in the wall of the cave, which were pierced by the US Navy fleet with naval guns. The remains of the old Japanese battery and tanks outside the command hole witnessed the fierce fighting here during World War II.
Today, 60 years later, a building built in the rock wall of the last Japanese headquarters is almost intact, and its firmness can be imagined. The commander here is Nan Yun Zhong Yi, a general who made great achievements in the attack on Pearl Harbor. After Pearl Harbor, he was promoted from major general to lieutenant general, and he didn't want to lose command in the naval battle of midway. The Japanese army lost four aircraft carriers, and Nan Yun was demoted to Saipan as commander. It was when Japan was defeated that he issued an instruction of "loyalty to the emperor" to the Japanese people all over the island, and he committed suicide by caesarean section. People who didn't commit suicide at headquarters were also killed by American artillery fire. In the square in front of the headquarters, there are still Japanese artillery, tanks and heavy machine guns.
Zishaya
Zisha Cliff is located in the northern part of Saipan, which is a cliff with an altitude of 360 meters. This is the place where all soldiers and their families committed suicide by jumping off a cliff after the defeat of the Japanese army in World War II. There is a peace monument next to it, copper Guanyin, with a halo on its head and a cross on it. Under it, you can also find the tail of a bomb, and the warhead is buried deep in it. This is the symbol of various religions in the world and the religious gods they worship. Everyone wants to maintain human peace and hopes that there will be no war in the world and they will step on their feet.
