The Organizing Committee of the 29th Olympic Games (BOCOG) announced from June 5th to1October 5th, 2008 that the Imperial Capital Hotel will be used as the Olympic Village for the equestrian events of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, and the Lihao Hotel in Sha Tin will be used as the media center and guest hotel.

Therefore, from July 2, 2008 to September 4, 2008, all rooms were temporarily reserved for the exclusive use of Olympic athletes. 2+2 Cafe and 1+ 1 Bar will also be converted into Jianer Restaurant, which is temporarily closed to the public.

Imperial Capital Hotel Information:

Imperial Hotel is a four-star hotel in Hong Kong. It is located in the center of Sha Tin, New Territories. Built by Sun Hung Kai Real Estate, it belongs to the second phase of New City Plaza. It opened on August 4th, 1989, and was jointly built with Xincheng Commercial Building.

The hotel has 448 rooms with an area of about 300 square feet. Among them, there are 436 rooms and suites 12 rooms, providing serviced residence and hotel accommodation services. To tie in with the equestrian events of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games in Sha Tin, Sun Hung Kai Properties invested 300 million yuan to renovate guest rooms and hotels, including upgrading the hotel lobby, guest rooms, restaurants, swimming pools and fitness rooms, and strengthening security, computer and telephone systems.
